      Advantages

      Disadvantages

      Good but expensive

This is a good product however I do have one major reservation about it and that is the fact that in my opinion it does nothing to justiify the £20 price tag that a 400ml bottle commands in the shops and for that reason I will only be giving it three Dooyoo stars, if it was half the price then it might warrant at least four and maybe even five stars.

This is a cream designed for dry skin so you would expect it to be very rich and creamy and it certainly is a nice thick cream. It is dispensed via a pump delivery system and the pachaging is sturdy and well designed, the cream contains apricot oil and vitamin F and these act together to certainly moisturise my skin very effectively. The apricot oil gives it a nice, subtle, fruity aroma to it. It is best to apply it to your skin after showering and drying your skin. It absorbs into my skin easily and does not leave it feeling greasy at all.

It has a nice colling feel to it as it absorbs into my skin and it spreads very easily so you need to ensure you do not pump out too much in one go otherwise you will find yourself wasting cream and at the price this goes for that is not a good thing.

I find this cream to be very effective of my knees, ankles and elbows, all the places where skin can really dry out, it certainly adds mositure to my skin and leaves it firm and refreshed with a nice healthy glow. As I said at the start of my review there is nothing to fault this product over its performance it is just the fact that it is over proced in my opinion as other cheaper products can also achieve the same results. On the plus side you do get a lot of use out of it as it spreads so well you do not need to use a lot in any one application.

      Advantages

      Disadvantages

Very expensive and not moisturising enough

I tried Biotherm products for the first time when they were on a 3 for 2 in Boots, they are quite expensive and so at least this way you get them a little bit cheaper. They very often are on 3 for 2 in Boots I find, and so I always wait to replace products or to try new products then. I have also occasionally bought Biotherm products duty free, again to save some money.

This is really really expensive for a body lotion, but I figured that I'd had so many other really good quality biotherm products that I'd give this a go, and it is a large bottle at 400ml. It is an 'intensive anti-drying body milk', and this is what I was after for the harsh winter months, I have really really dry skin, even more so in the winter and I figured that if this worked then it would be worth the money.

However this didn't really work for me, not for the price anyway!
First the positives; this has a lovely pleasant but not overpowering scent of apricots which does linger on your skin for quite some time, it is easy to rub into your skin, it disapears and it is quickly absorbed into you skin, and it doesn't leave any greasy after feel or sticky residue behind, the pump action bottle is easy and convenient to use.
Now unfortunately for the negatives: it didn't feel rich enough or moisturising enough my skin still felt slightly dry and taut after using this, this didn't change after using the body lotion for a few weeks either, I found that I had to religiously use it both morning and night otherwise my dry skin came back with a vengeance if I missed an application, I had to use a quite a lot of this much more than other body lotions, therefore it isn't going to last very long at all, my skin didn't feel smooth or soft enough after using this, I was actually really dissapointed with it - especially as it was so expensive.

Overall I was not impressed with this for the money, had it been a cheap and cheerfull body lotion fair enough, but it wasn't. I expected a lot more from this. I certainly won't be buying it again.

        Advantages

        Disadvantages

for when my skin needs a good boost

Biotherm is a beauty brand initiated in 1952 in France. It offers a wide range of body, bath and skin care products with premium price tags.

        ~Intensive Body Treatment~

Biotherm offer various body lotions and milk. One cream available is the Intensive Body Treatment which is suitable for those with dry skin. This cream claims to "replenish the skin's protective barrier and restore balance". It should leave the skin smooth and firm and revitalise any dry skin.

The cream contains natural apricot oil, corn oil and vitamin F which combined together, moisturise dry skin.

        ~Packaging~

This cream is presented in a generic Biotherm bottle. Tall, curvy and completed with a push down pump dispenser. The bottle is recognisable by its light orange colour and white writing.

        ~Price~

The cream is available in a 400ml size from the following online stockists :

        *www.cheapsmells.com - £20.95
        *www.amazon.co.uk - £19.05
        *www.fragrancex.com - £24.07

        ~My Thoughts~

I have used various Biotherm products over the past year and whilst many of them have been deluxe trial sizes, I have a few full sized products too. I became the owner of a 400ml Intensive Body Treatment after purchasing a gift set in my local Savers store earlier this year. I believe I paid under £10 for this and another body product which is a fantastic saving on the rrp prices. I have not spotted this in Savers again though so the bargain is lost!

This cream joins my overgrowing collection of body lotions. Whilst I have some beautifully scented lotions for wearing in the evenings, I like to use a decent lotion or cream each day. My skin is dry and sensitive and where possible, I like to keep it hydrated to stop any further issues with it. I use this one for a few weeks at a time when my skin really needs a moisture boost and it was a godsend during the summer.

        ~Intense Application..~

The bottle is decent enough, sturdy and holds the product well. The pump works a treat though the first time, a few presses are needed to release the cream. As with most creams, I apply post shower when my skin is still slightly hot and damp(but not wet). I love the consistency of this cream, it is thick and substantial. It has a beautiful, light sweet aroma which is attractive but doesn't overpower.

The cream once applied to my skin is very light and melts into my skin. It feels soothing thanks to the cool texture of the cream and spreads easily allowing a small blob to cover a decent sized area of skin. I use this on my arms and legs mainly ensuring a pay close attention to the driest areas (elbows, knees and ankles). The cream absorbs well and feels amazing especially when my skin is tender or I have shaved.

The cream absorbs exceptionally quickly allowing me to get dressed and do what I have to do without feeling tacky. The sweet scent lingers gracefully for around 30mins before disappearing and doesn't interfere with my chosen body spray or perfume. I am impressed by how this cream makes my skin feel. When using over a period of time, it does boost the firmness and general appearance of my skin allowing it to appear healthy and less irritated. Immediate results include a soft, supple texture on the surface and a feeling of deep down hydration with each use. The feeling generally lasts throughout the day.

        ~Conclusion~

This bottle is lasting me very well as a little goes a long way. I love the texture, the effects and the subtle scent. I do believe this is suitable for every day use but I tend to use it for a few weeks at a time and then use up my other body moisturisers as I don't like wastage. £20.00 might seem a high price tag for such a product but given the results and the fact that you get 400ml in the bottle, it is very much worth it. I do feel this cream gives better and long lasting results in comparrison to standard body lotions and is very much a high quality product.

I can fully recommend this Intensive Body Treatment from Biotherm.

        Thanks for reading :)
