A great product that I will buy again

Bliss Blood Orange and White Pepper Body Butter

I received this as part of a beauty box subscription, it might have been glossy box but I cannot remember. This brand is one that I have heard of but I have only used this product from the brand - although Bliss has a lot of good reviews.

      - Product description (from Bliss UK)

"Bliss blood orange & white pepper body butter is a parabens-free, mega-moisturising body cream in our vibrant yet spicy scent. Coconut oil softens, sodium hyaluronate locks in moisture and vitamin E smoothes."

      - About the product

I have the 50ml or 1.7 fl oz bottle of this product although there is a larger full size bottle as well. The body butter is stated to be paraben free which is good news for the skin. The brand is based in London I believe but it is available online.

      - Scent

The scent of this product doesn't sound that nice, in my opinion anyway, and I put off using it for ages because it didn't sound like a nice scent but it is gorgeous! The scent smells like oranges, as if you had just cut open an orange segment - it is fairly strong on application but it quickly becomes weaker. The scent is really nice, fresh, summery and refreshing. The scent of oranges is also really realistic, it does not smell artificial at all, in my opinion, which is quite rare to find.

      - Using the product and results

The lotion is white in colour, it has a normal thick smooth consistency/texture - like another other body butter, although compared to the body shop body butters, it is lighter and less thick. I use a 20p size amount of product for each limb or there abouts an d the scent of oranges does increase as the product is being applied. I can only smell oranges really when I apply it but after a minute or two the slightly spicy/peppery scent comes through which combined really nicely with the orange scent. The cream applies quickly and easily - it does not feel heavy on the skin and it does not feel greasy/oily when applied. It does not take long to absorb into the skin, it takes about a minute or so for the cream to be fully absorbed which is great as I don't think anyone wants to wait for a body butter to absorb. The body butter leaves my skin feeling really smooth and soft (not as smooth/soft as the Rituals magic touch body cream) and it also leaves my skin moisturised and lightly scented with oranges. Overall, a really nice body butter with a gorgeous scent of fresh sweet oranges.

      - Price and availability

I have the 50ml travel size which can be bought (I will probably buy the travel size for holiday in August) and it can also be bought in a large 200ml pump bottle. The product can be bought from: the Bliss UK site, Debenhams, ebay, john lewis and more!

      - Conclusions

*Gorgeous fresh, orange scent which also has some spicy peppery scents in it
*Smooth texture which makes it apply really quickly/easily
*Leaves my skin smooth, soft and moisturised - not greasy, oily, irritated or heavy
*Travel size 50ml bottle available to buy

*Price of the full size bottle?
      *Availability - only online etc

Thank you for reading my review

A great moisturiser for a treat but not for everyday use throughout the year

I bought this body butter by bliss after reading so many positive reviews of the lemon body butter they also make. I wouldn't ever pay over £20 for any kind of body butter/moisturiser but I found a good deal on ebay and got the body butter and the shower gel for £12.

I have been using it every day since I got it, mainly on the tops of my arms and the tops of my legs and I have to say I am very impressed. It leaves my skin feeling softer than any other moisturiser I have ever tried but without leaving a greasy, wet kind of feeling. I also have some very annoying bumpy skin on the tops of my arms and this seems to get rid of it, making my skin appear smooth and soft.

The other great thing about this body butter is the smell. It has a beautiful smell and it is very strong so that it actually stays on your body for a really long time after you use it. The smell is "blood orange and white pepper" which might seem like a weird combination but it actually works extremely well. It smells very orangey and then the white pepper adds a spicey little kick to it. Whenever I have applied this, I can't stop smelling my hands because the scent is just so gorgeous!

The texture of the body butter is quite thick, you can tell it is an intense moisturiser from the thickness of it. It smooths onto your skin really well and absorbs very quickly. On the tube it says to apply it all over your body but really, I wouldn't use this body butter as an all over body butter, I would only use it on dry areas as it would cost an absolute fortune otherwise!

The packaging is quite disppointing for such a premium product, it's a pale (cheap looking) blue tube with a picture of an orange on (i assume it is a blood orange!). It doesn't stand out as being luxury and I would expect to see something similar in boots for a couple of quid. Nevertheless, I care more about the product than what it is housed in.

For £12 for the body butter and the shower gel, I think I got a very good deal and would certainly pay the same again. However, I wouldn't pay £24 for this... that is not neccessarily a reflection on the product, rather a reflection on me because I would feel bad spending so much on a moisturiser. I would recommend this to others who can afford such luxuries though, and I would certainly be happy to receive it as a gift.
