I have fairly dry skin so need to apply lotion ever day. Some time back my favourite lotion was discontinued. I have spent the last year and a half looking for the perfect replacement. I want something that absorbs fairly quickly and does not leave a residue of any kind. To complicate maters, I am very scent sensitive so most products give me a bad headache (in some cases I react with blurred vision, dizziness, or trouble breathing). After reading some reviews on Amazon, I decided to try Body Drench Unscented Daily Moisturizing Lotion. Body Drench was originally created to improve tanning. Their philosophy being that a great tan begins with healthy skin. Personally, I have pale skin and burn so easily tanning is virtually impossible (not to mention skin cancer running in my family), but the product has become popular in a much wider market because it glide on smoothly and absorbs quickly. It also claims to leave skin hydrated and refreshed with no greasy residue. It is suitable for sensitive skin. Indeed, I read numerous rave reviews on various sites. Body Drench comes in a 500ml semi-opaque white plastic bottle with a pump. It is translucent enough that you can see the lotion level inside the bottle. The front label is simple and uncluttered with a blue, purple, and green colour scheme. The back states the usual product blurb and directions for use (in English, French and Spanish), ingredients (in English and Spanish), and company address and website. The pump top draws the lotion up very well. Indeed, you must be careful not to press it down to hard or lotion squirts out past your hand. I was impressed to find that the pump worked until the bottle was almost completely empty (unlike some that stop working while there is quite a lot of lotion left in the bottom of the bottle). The lotion is white and fairly thin. Although this product is unscented, it does have a natural scent as a result of some of the ingredients (in particular I notice the jojoba seed oil and cocoa seed butter). The scent is quite mild but still very present. To me, it smells like something you should apply after a day out in the sun. It spreads over the skin very easily. Initially it takes a little while to soak into the skin, perhaps 15-20 seconds to start soaking in. But then in only takes another 30 seconds or so to finish soaking in. I don't completely agree that this lotion doesn't leave a residue. I can't quite find the word for it. It isn't sticky or clammy, but I can still "feel" it long after it has absorbed. It is not unbearable, but neither do I like the feeling. This lotion does moisturize quite well. It is particularly soothing after a few hours in the sunshine. It is not a miracle worker; I apply each night before bed and by the following evening my skin is starting to feel quite dry again. Body Drench Unscented Daily Moisturizing Lotion is available from a variety of stores online. I bought mine off Amazon for £9 (free shipping). The 500ml bottle lasted several months with daily application. I am giving this lotion 3 out of 5 stars. If I could I would give it 3.5 stars as it works quite well and soaks in quickly. However, the slight residue prevents me for awarding 4 stars. All in all, I was quite happy with this product, but I do not like it enough to stop my search for the perfect lotion.
