Body Shop Japenese Cherry Blossom Body Butter
Advantages: Leaves the skin soft and smooth
Everyone who knows me, knows how much I love body moisturisers and although I have my old faithfuls, I still love to branch out and try new ones. My latest purchase was the Japanese Cherry Blossom Body Butter which is a product that has been created by The Body Shop. This butter came with a promise of giving my skin round the clock hydration lasting for up to 24 hours. It has specifically made for use on those who have normal skin and the product comes with the promises that it will be easily absorbed and leave our skin feeling deliciously soft and smooth, while coating us with a gentle cherry blossom scent.
How does the product work?
The butter contains Cherry Blossom Extract which carries certain medicinal properties. It softens and smoothes the skin and removes harmful toxins which would have otherwise caused premature aging. It also gives the skin a healthy glow making it look and feel in a good condition. Also included is Shea butter which is a naturally moisturising which helps to hydrate the skin while Glycerin draws further moisture in and allows the skin to retain it.
The product also contains Community Fair Trade Organic Olive Oil which nourishes the skin and feeds it Vitamin E which helps to keep it supple and youthful. Community Fair Trade Soya Oil hydrates the skin further allowing it to cling on to its elasticity. The fact that The Body Shop have sourced their ingredients using Fair Trade means that other will have better lives.
How do you use the product?
The product is to be used in the same way as any other body butter. It is to be applied skin that has been cleansed and that in dry and then massaged into to the body using a gentle upward stroking motion. The butter can be applied all over the body but should not be used on the face. Once the butter has been fully absorbed, you can get dressed.
Packaging and Price
The butter is contained within a wide mouthed circular tub which has a baby pink label on the top which stands out nicely against the black screw top lid. The label has some lovely cherry blossoms on the front. The product will cost you around £12.50 for a 200ml pot or a smaller size is available, you can buy a 50ml pot of £5. This type of packaging is convenient because you can use every last drop of the butter and control the amount that you are using. It is a pain with my long nails because you dig into the butter and it can get caught underneath them so I use a spatula instead.
The body butter can be bought from your local Body Shop or from their online website. If you find that you like this product, there are other Japanese Cherry Blossom products available and plenty of other varieties of body butters too.
The fragrance butter is very delicate and floral, just as blossom should be. It smells lovely in the tub and also when applied to the skin. It isn't the type of scent that I would usually choose because I love sweet and sugary scents but I do find it to be a more grown up and sophisticated choice for when I am in work. It doesn't smell artificial and that's because it's probably real as the butter has real cherry blossom extract in it.
The consistency of the butter is just as thick and rich as you would expect it to be. It is luxurious and spreads over the skin easily. It takes a bit of work to rub in the butter because it is so thick but after that it is absorbed nicely leaving only a beautiful sheen on the skin. I am able to dress fairly quickly after dressing without worrying that it will mark my clothes.
The butter leaves my skin feeling just as soft and smooth as promised. It looks and feels healthy and I feel like it's in a better condition from the very first application. It gets rid of my skins dullness, banishes any flakiness and it even works quite well on my tricky dry spots such as my knees and ankles. It has long lasting results and I don't feel the need to reapply during the day. It even feels really soothing on the skin if I apply the product immediately after shaving. It has never caused me any discomfort or itchiness on my sometimes sensitive skin.
All in all, this is another lovely body butter from The Body Shop. It contains some lovely natural ingredients and it makes an immediate improvement on the skin. My skin feels soft and smooth after use and looks healthier and in a good condition. The aroma is fresh and floral so it's a lovely spring fragrance.
Summary: A lovely blossom scented body butter that leaves the skin feeling soft and smooth.
