It's a plastic tub with a screw off lid which is easy to open. It fastens nice and tight so it should be fine to keep in a bag or suitcase when travelling. It's a fairly thick textured grey-green coloured mask with a very strong scent. The scent is quite natural, like mud and seaweed, and though it is strong it's not overpowering.
