Body Shop Shea Beautifying Oil
Advantages: Smells nice, moisturising, light, not greasy, makes skin soft and smooth, makes hair feel amazing
I really like hair and skin oils and I love trying out new ones so when the body shop brought their range of 'beautifying oils' out I decided to buy one to try. There were several different fragrances available including mango and coconut but I decided to get the Shea scented one, mainly because I like the smell of the Shea body butter.
I paid the full price of £9 for my 100ml bottle of the oil which isn't particularly cheap however it is good value in my opinion as not a lot of the oil is needed. The oil is not pure shea oil, it is a blend of nut oils and it contains a huge amount of ingredients including synthetic ingredients, so it is not completely natural but this does not bother me.
The oil is a multi purpose product as it can be used on both skin and hair and I use it as a bath oil, hair oil and occasionally I will use it on my skin if it is in need of a little extra moisture and nourishment. The oil comes in a cute little plastic bottle with a flip top lid and the lid has a small dispenser hole which I like as the oil can't all pour out at once.
The oil is clear and it is not thick and oily like I expected, it is very thin and lightweight and it smells lovely although the smell has a bit of a weird tone to it, but it is still nice. I use this as a hair treatment once or twice a week or whenever my hair is feeling dry and damaged. I only need a few drops and I just rub it into my scalp and the ends of my hair and leave it in over night, then in the morning I wash my hair and it feels instantly silky and soft and it also looks healthier and shinier.
It doesn't leave my hair greasy however I do have really dry hair so people with greasy hair might want to avoid this, although it isn't anywhere near as greasy as any of the other hair oils I've tried. An using it in my skin I will use it just on dry patches and my eczema and it soaks into my skin really quickly, leaving it instantly looking ten times better and feeling soft, healthy and smooth.
I don't need much to see a result and my skin stays feeling soft and smooth for a few days afterwards, which I think is brilliant. I like that it doesn't make my skin look greasy and it doesn't feel head or anything on my skin, it just gives it a nice subtle glow and I definitely highly recommend this product!
I'm going to give it five out of five and I'm going to be buying some more bottles of it in different fragrances - I really want to try the strawberry one!
