Advantages: Smells beautiful, leaves skin amazingly soft
Disadvantages: Petals are a bit of a nuisance to clean
I recently bought a gift set from Bomb Cosmetics for myself (well it was my birthday - that's my excuse anyway), and in it were two 'bath creamers' one rose, one marigold. To be honest, I am not a fan of 'bits' in my bath, but I was still interested to try these, despite the fact they contain petals.
I wouldn't say rose is necessarily my favourite fragrance, in fact I have always thought it was a bit old-fashioned, but both this, and the other rose scented product in my set, smelled absolutely gorgeous, so I couldn't wait to try it.
The creamers are made by hand, and have a high cocoa butter content, as well as containing Shea butter, which makes them very moisturising. As well as rose (which can calm stress and is apparently a great aphrodisiac), this contains Jasmine (which has skin softening properties), Neroli (known for relaxing and soothing properties) and Geranium (which is great for dry skin). Despite this concoction of ingredients the main smell that comes through is the rose, with perhaps a tiny bit of the spicy jasmine.
Appearance wise, the product is pretty much the same as the picture above. It's white in colour and is filled with red rose petals. The product only weighs 30g, so is very small. Whereas Lush bath ballistics that you may be used to are around the size of a tennis ball, these are more like the size of a golf ball.
I found with the last Bomb Cosmetics product (the purple daisy bath mallow) that it took a very long time to dissolve when I put it into the water. This one was not so bad - it still took a little while to dissolve, but rather than thudding straight down to the bottom of the bath like the last one, it bobbed around happily on the surface of the water, shedding its petals and turning the water cloudy as it went.
One thing I noticed about this, was almost as soon as it hit the water, the rose smell filled the room. It was gorgeous, and lasted throughout the whole bath. The creamer was very relaxing to use, and I didn't even mind the petals, although I remembered why I hated them so much when I came to clean the bath out!
On getting out of the bath, my skin felt gorgeous - very soft and moisturised - and the rose scent lingered on my skin for ages - every now and then I would catch the scent of it on me, which was great, as I don't always get that with these sort of products.
The creamer costs £1.99 and can be purchased from www.bombcosmetics.co.uk. I also read in another review recently that these are now available to buy from The Pier, which is exactly why I avoided going in there this morning - I knew I would come out with loads more things I didn't need!
Overall, I was really impressed with this one. The only downside I can think of is that the petals are an absolute nightmare to clean out of the bath, but otherwise it was fantastic, and I would definitely buy it again!
