Advantages: Smells lovely

Disadvantages: Expensive and not so many bubbles as with a bubble bath.

Botanics is a range of products from Boots which harnesses the power of plants to produce some great products. This product is the Luxurious Bath Elixir with Iceland Moss. I received the elixir in a gift set as a Christmas Present and was looking forward to giving it a try.

The bottle states that the plant extracts used in the product have been authenticated by Royal Botanic Gardens, Kew. I had never heard of Iceland Moss before but it is a plant that has been used for many years because of its soothing properties. The moss has a high sugar content which hydrates and calms the skin. The elixir has been designed to soothe tired muscles and help your body to relax, rewind and relieve the day's stresses and strains.

The product comes in a clear plastic bottle with a metal screw cap. The label is an attractive green and white with an outline of some plants. A 250ml bottle costs £3.92 and is available only from Boots store. My bottle was smaller than this as it was part of a gift set. It is certainly more expensive than I would normally pay for a bubble bath but as it was a gift I didn't have to worry about the cost so just lay back in the bath and enjoyed it!

The bath elixir (that word just makes the product sound so much more luxurious when really all it is is bubble bath!) is a lovely goldenly orange colour. The smell is lovely, it reminds me of some Clarins products which are also made with plant extracts. It almost has a slight spice smell. It smells like an expensive bath foam.

Adding a little to a running bath the elixir begins to foam and the wonderful smell fills the bathroom. The bubbles aren't as much as you would get from an ordinary bubble bath and don't last quite as well but there is still some left when I get out of the bath. The smell is lovely and relaxing.

I like this bath elixir, its luxurious and smells great. The downside is there aren't as many bubbles as with an ordinary bubble bath and it is quite expensive. I probably wouldn't go out and buy it for myself because of the price but it makes a lovely gift and nice to use when you want to pamper yourself.

Summary: An expensive but nice bath elixir which smells great but could do with some more bubbles.
