Advantages: Easy use, excellent value, great results. Better than the leading brand (imo)

Disadvantages: Can't think of any!

Having Mediterranean genes, I've been needing to bleach my tache pretty much since I hit puberty, i.e. about 13 or so (schoolkids can be so cruel!). I'd always seen my mum doing hers at home with the Boots brand creams, but being stubborn I wanted to do mine with Jolen, the brand all the teen magazines were recommending. To my surprise, when the Jolen ran out and I was forced to use some of my mum's hair lightener, it actually stayed on my face for a start, and was far less itchy/painful to use. I'm now 25, and I've been using it ever since, about once a fortnight.

The product comes in two sizes - 50ml and 100ml, and there are two tubes of cream inside each box (i.e. of 25ml each or 50ml each), which, when mixed, react together and bleach your hair. Also you get a plastic spatula and a little mixing tray. The process is simple enough: squeeze an equal amount from each tube into the tray, mix with the spatula, and apply to the hair you are wanting to bleach for 5-10mins. (Personally I've left the product on for longer than this and have had no ill-effects, but do so at your own risk.) Then remove the cream, and, voila! Hair is a sexy shade of blonde. As it says on the box, the product won't make the hair disappear completely, but it will be far less noticeable. Persistent areas may need two or more applications - wait until tomorrow, then try again.

I've not found the Boots lightener painful to use (although sometimes get a slight tingling as it's working, but nothing like the burning that Jolen gives me) and I've got fairly sensitive skin. It's fine on the face and neck, and I've also tried it on my arms. If you're only doing your tache a 50ml pack will last you a good few months (you only really need a pea-sized amount) and, at £3.60-odd a pack it's a bit bargainous.

Summary: Will continue to use for ever and ever. Love it!
