Advantages: smells nice, leaves skin soft, cheap
Disadvantages: smell disappears
I got this recently as part of a gift set that included the body butter, the body scrub and the body wash. At £10 for all three I thought it was a bargain, especially considering how much body butters from the Body Shop cost on their own.
The packaging is very attractive and luxurious looking, the body butter itself comes in a round flat purple tub with a screw off lid. The body butter inside is filled up almost to the top and smells absolutely lovely. It is a very sweet and chocolatey smell and the body butter itself is very thick and a light cream colour.
I tend to put body butters on before I go to bed at night as they can be quite rich and thick and can take a while so soak into your skin. I found this body butter to be very rich and thick but it seems to absorb into my skin a lot easier than other more expensive body butters and didnt leave me feeling as greasy after I had rubbed it in. It left my skin feeling lovely and soft and smelling quite strongly of cocoa butter.
The next morning I woke to find it had completely absorbed and my skin felt a hell of a lot softer than it usually does if I havent used a body butter before bed. The scent had completely disappeared though, which with more expensive body butters I normally wake up still smelling of it the next morning so this was a little but of a let down, but only a little one.
Overall I would definitely recommend this product, it moisturises my skin just as good as other brands of similar body butters but for a fraction of the price. The only downside is that the scent doesnt last as long, which is a shame as it smells so nice. This is a small price to pay however considering that as part of the box set, I only paid £3.33 for this body butter. I would however recommend you buy it on its own and not with the sugar scrub or body wash, as neither are very good at all - see my other reviews of these products for more details on my experience with these.
Summary: lovely moisturising body butter
