Advantages: It smells great, goes a long way and is a brilliant moisturiser

Disadvantages: Unsure about the Fairtrade qualities of the entire product

As a body butter this product is fantastic, however I like one of the other reviewers doubts whether all of the ingredients are Fairtrade. Reading the back it says that their Fairtrade Cocoa Butter is produced by communities in the Dominican Republic and traded fairly. That is great, but what about all of the other ingredients? and how much of the product is made up of Fairtrade? It seems that Boots have latched onto the idea that they can charge a much higher price (almost £8 for 200ml) if they say it's Fairtrade.

Anyway after that little gripe I'll talk about all the fab things. This body butter comes in a clear plastic tub with a screw top lid (as in the picture). The butter itself is really thick and doesn't move at all in the tub. It also goes a long way, so you don't need a lot to cover your whole body. It smells delicious, really nutty and it soaks into your skin reasonably quickly, after about 10 minutes, leaving you smelling almost edible. Once it has soaked in it doesn't leave your skin feeling sticky or shiny and it really does moisturise all of those dry bits like your elbows and knees.

As a body butter I think this is great and will continue to use it, even if it is £8 a tub, because it works so well. In terms of it's fairtrade status, obviously it meets the critera required otherwise it wouldn't be able to use the fairtrade label, however it's a bit unclear what these criteria are and how much of the product qualifies as fairtrade. Also just because it is fairtrade doesn't mean that it's made of all natural products, so don't think that's what you're buying......it's got plenty of chemical sounding names on the ingredients list.

So if you want a good quality body butter, go for it and don't worry too much about the other stuff!

Summary: A brilliant body butter that really works!
