Advantages: Smells great, simple to use and to wear

Disadvantages: Very strong indeed and the fragrance stays incredibly strong all day

I'm not into using body creams, lotions and potions at this time of year at all. It's far too cold and I'm a big baby! However I do buy them still with the best of intentions when I touch my skin and I can see it needs a little hydrating. I've got loads of them all scattered over the place that I've used once and cast aside and given up on.

However I bought this one to use at night time. Now I have no intention of stripping off and bearing my naked body to the cold air in the rooms in my house (my Mums tight and won't put the heating on all the time lol). However the thought behind buying this was that Lavender helps induce sleep (allegedly) and it's meant to relax and de-stress you. So my idea was to apply this under my duvet to be totally honest once I got warm and warmed the lotion in my hands.

I adore Lavender but I find the scent too strong for my bfs sensitive nostrils (so I use this when I am in my own bed lol) and I also find with Lavender it's so pungent that quite often the aroma heats up in pubs and clubs and makes people start looking for their Grandma's more often than not. So I use this totally because I like the smell and when I'm not annoying anyone with my company basically.

I love this range which is made by Boots and I'm pretty sure I now own the full range of the stuff and I do like French lavender because in my experience of it it doesn't seems quite so harsh as some of the Lavender products I have used containing essential oils although strong smelling it really is.

The Packaging....

I bought mine or £1.50 and it's 50ml. Also available in a 125ml size at about £4.00 only in Boots (as it is a Boots own branded product). 125ml looks the same as this. It comes in a see through tube with a see through cap that twists on/off and that covers a small hole. On the front in a burgundy coloured writing I'm told it is Boots, French Lavender, Relaxing Body Cream and that is blended with pure essential oil of French Lavender. on the back also in the same coloured writing I'm told a bit about the product, directions for use are given, warnings are given, the recycle symbol is on there, the size is stated (as I've listed already) and finally contact details for Boots are given. All in all I quite like the tube. I can see the light blush pink cream through it so I can see how much I have left etc and it doesn't look cheap and nasty and fits in well with the other products from within the range very well.

A Bit About The Product According To The Tube....

An indulgent body cream to nourish and protect your skin. Unwind and enjoy the infusion of lavender essential oil, known to help aid relaxation. Let the aroma of lavender soothe away tension and help to leave your skin soft and supple.

Directions For Use....

Massage liberally into skin to moisturise, leaving it silky smooth.

Using It....

Well it is incredibly simple to use to be honest. Although it's a cream it squeezes out of the tube really easily indeed and although it has a rich consistency about it, it has all the ease of use of a lotion which I really appreciate. It's light pink in colour as I previously mentioned and when it comes into contact with skin it's cold and massages in very quickly and of course loses it's colour.

It's incredibly fast drying and one minute after applying this I'm confident enough to dress and yes it does give touchably soft skin in a very natural way. It isn't one bit greasy or skin drying and it's perfect wherever I want to apply it and you really can use as much or as little as you want to.

The fragrance is as it's said. Lavender. Make no bones about that fact. It has a slight creamy smell to it but still it's distinctive. I wouldn't feel comfortable wearing this out and about pubbing and clubbing due to the heavy smell but on my own I adore the smell. Yes I find it relaxing. Clears my nostrils out too!

Overall....

A real skin treat in a none heavy way. Incredibly simple to and I feel that above anything it doesn't irritate my sensitive skin in any way shape or form and it gently hydrates it. I love the fact it's none sticky and it's as light as a feather on the skin too. The smell is quite beautiful (providing you love lavender of course!) but find unless your in your 80's you may want to keep this for your nose only. Do watch out though my Mum used this and complained of migraines! Doesn't do that to me though! It's a nice skin treat, washes off easily leaving no residue and I love it!

Summary: Skin softening in a none heavy way!
