Advantages: Quick and easy to use, does not cost the earth
Disadvantages: Friends will be jealous of your feet
I have always been a big fan of Scholl Foot Products and use them quite a lot. It you had asked me a few weeks ago, I would have told you that in my opinion, Scholl was the best brand of foot care I could buy.
This has all changed since my recent visit to Boots. I did go into Boots with the intention of looking to see if there were any offers on Scholl foot care. As there was nothing on offer, I decided to have a look round. That's when I spotted Boots brand of Cracked Heel Repair and decided to give it a try.
If I don't keep up with my foot care, then the skin on my heels does tend to get very dry and starts to crack. With the awful summer we have had, I have definitely not paid as much attention to my feet as I should have. It is so easy to slip my feet into a pair of flat shoes and forget about them.
Boots Cracked Heel Repair comes in very pale peach coloured tube and has a slightly darker peach coloured flip top lid. There is a picture on the front of the tube of a pair of feet and ankles.
It also says on the front of the tube that you will get 'visible results in just three days'.
When I opened the tube there was no immediate fragrance. I gave the tube a squeeze and the balm came out slowly. It is white in colour and I rubbed a very small amount between my finger and thumb. The balm is thick and feels very creamy. It does feel slightly greasy but I expected that. The balm has the very slightest hint of a floral fragrance. It smells very delicate.
I applied the balm to my nice clean feet and paid particular attention to my heels. It blended into the skin on my feet very easily. I have to say that as soon as I applied the balm my feet did feel a lot smoother and looked more moisturised. The balm did take around ten minutes to absorb completely into my feet. I was happy to let this happen as there was no point in applying the balm unless I gave it time to work.
It does say on the tube to use morning and night but I have to admit that I just used it at night. I found that it worked very well this way, and my heels were crack free after four uses. After my first use I did put a pair of cotton socks on after applying the balm. This saves me having to sit and wait for it to absorb into my skin.
This balm works very well and I am delighted with the results. My heels feel very soft and smooth all the time now, as does the rest of my feet.
This Cracked Heel Repair comes in a 100ml tube and costs £4.29. When I bought it there was a buy one 'georgeous feet product' and get the second half price.
It does say on the tube that it should not be applied to bleeding or infected skin.
It has a shelf life of 24 months and all the ingredients are listed on the back of the tube.
Summary: A little of the balm goes a long way......
