I've written a review of the other Boots Mediterranean body butter, where I wrote that it is not my favourite because this one is.
Packaging: comes in a shallow transparent plastic tub with a black screw-top lid, which is very difficult to remove with greasy hands. The clear plastic means you can see the greenish butter through, which looks great at first. Once you've used a lot, though, it doesn't look so great anymore.
Price: used to cost around £5 from Boots; doesn't look to be available there anymore though. It is available in the US from Target for $8.99 (around £5.80).
The butter: is quite solid, and therefore getting out of the tub is not the easiest thing in the world. It takes some rubbing in, too, but it's worth it as it feels lovely, not too greasy, and smells amazing. The smell is strong and sweet from the honey. I would not wear perfume with it because the smell sticks around for quite a while. I don't mind this at all.
My opinion: this is lovely. For a fiver, you could do a lot worse. It leaves my skin feeling much softer and also gives it a slight glow. I don't tend to use it to get rid of my occasional very dry skin, as I have moisturisers that do this better, but for softness it's my favourite. It smells gorgeous, too, and isn't as greasy as some butters you can buy.
I am a huge fan, so this comes highly recommended.
I was given this as a present for Christmas. It comes in a a large shallow plastic tub, with a clear base and black lid. It's in a range so is similar to other Boots "Mediterranean" products. I do like the pot. It is lovely and wide so you can get your fingers in easily to scoop out the butter. The screw lid goes back on after just half a turn, and because the butter itself is quite solid, if you take it places it doesn't all slop about if it get moved or upturned in your bag.
When you take the lid off it has a good strong (not overpowering) sweet smell, which I think smells strongly of wheatgerm and honey. I do really like the smell. The olive is presumably giving it's smooth quality - it doesn't seem to be affecting the smell at all.
The consistency of the butter/cream is quite solid, but in fact is just right, as you can easily get it out of the pot, but it isn't sloppy. It goes onto your skin beautifully, and leaves a silky feeling. I have quite dry legs and I use it everyday to stop them drying out and itching and it works really well. The smell is quite pleasant, and makes my skin feel nice. I've been using it for a month with no bad effects regarding allergies or anything.
As this was a present I'm not sure what it cost, but a quick look at the boots website tells me it was £6.50 and is now £4.33. This is good value (actually I think I wouldn't have paid £6.50 for it for myself) and so this is definitely recommended at that price - get down there!
The organic and wholesome combination of softening olive oil, nourishing honey and vitamin enriched wheatgerm oil is a great excuse to try this body butter /
