“ Brand: Boots / Type: Body Lotion „
I was given some of this for Christmas by my eldest and have been using it now for several days. I can't say it would have been something that I would have purchased for myself as I tend to associate the Natural Collection range of products at Boots with the younger female but I have, nevertheless, been pleased with my experience of this lotion.
The body lotion comes in a plastic flip-top tube, with an attractive floral/vanilla design on it.
The product claims to be a light lotion blended with natural, calming vanilla to leave skin smooth, conditioned and noticeably softer.
The retail price for a 200ml tube is currently three pounds from Boots stores - although it is often part of their three for two deals etc and can work out even cheaper if you buy it that way.
Experience of the product:
The lotion is white/yellow tinted and is quite a rich, creamy consistency. I find it an appealing colour and consistency. It spreads over my skin easily and absorbs quickly and well. It does not irritate my slightly sensitive skin.
The directions for use of this product are to massage into the skin after showering or bathing - and I must say that this product does enhance the after bathing experience. Partly this is because it does make your skin feel lovely, soft and moisturised - but mainly because it smells absolutely delicious. I know scents are a very personal choice but I feel that if you like a vanilla smell - then you will like this. The vanilla scent is gorgeous and lasts well on my skin. In fact, I was pleasantly surprised at the lasting softness/scent that this product provides for such a low price. It is a longevity that I would expect from a pricier product.
The first time I used this product, I was a little too liberal with this lotion and the scent was at first slightly overwhelming for me - I have learned from experience to use a bit less since the vanilla scent is so strong.
Once is has been applied for a few minutes, however, the scent settles down to a warm vanilla aroma which I find delightful and my skin feels soft and supple. It is a lovely pampering experience at a bargain price.
I was given a set of Boots body lotion with matching shower gel for my birthday. It took me a couple of months to get around to using it. I see in store their Natural Collection body lotions are £3 each for a good 200ml size.
The body lotion comes in a soft plastic see-through tube. The tube stands on it's screw flip top lid making the lotion inside always ready to be squeezed out. There is a flowery picture on the front and the lotion inside is cream coloured so easy to spot. The info on the back is clear to read as it is written in black.
This is a light lotion which is 'blended with natural vanilla to help leave skin, smooth, conditioned and noticeable softer'. The directions say to massage into the skin after showering or bathing.
The body lotion is very creamy and light, it reminds me of yogurt- without fruit bits of course. It smells like vanilla mingled with milk. It isn't thick like a body butter but isn't thin either.
This is a lovely body lotion, it's right when it says it conditions and softens skin. I apply some after my shower and my skin feels soft and hydrated, I'd say this softness lasts all day. You really don't need much to get a good cover. The consistency of the lotion makes it very easy to use, it absorbs right in within a few minutes. My skin is left with no residue therefore I can get dressed almost immediately.
Most noticeable are my dry hands, instantly after an initial 'sting' they feel and look much better, to be honest I was surprised with the results. The smell stays evident for ages even after I've washed my hands- I can still smell it on them.
I've had no adverse reaction whilst using this lotion.
I would recommend this body lotion and give it 5 stars.
I love anything that smells like vanilla, so recently when I saw a Natural Collection Vanilla gift set in Boots I just had to get myself one.
Cost and where to buy from
The Body lotion usually retails for £3 on its own for 200ml, I bought it in a box set for £10 which included the body lotion, the body spray, the bath cream and the body scrub. The Natural Collection single products are also on a 3 for 2 offer quite often aswell so look out for that! Natural Collection is one of Boots' own brands so is only available from their stores or from www.boots.com.
The body lotion comes in a squeezy tube that stands on its cap. The tube is clear revealing the vanilla coloured cream inside, and features the natural collection logo on the front along with a picture of a vanilla flower and pods. The cap is brown and clips off easily to reveal a small hole through which you squeeze the lotion out.
Instructions for use
The body lotion is simple and easy to use, simply squeeze out a small amount and massage into the skin. It is particularly more effective to do after showering or bathing when the skin is clean and warm.
I love anything that smells like vanilla, and this body lotion certainly does! It has a very strong and sweet vanilla scent, but it isnt too sickly or overpowering. The lotion itself is a rich creamy colour which does well with the scent of the product. It is easy to squeeze out of the tube, it isnt too thick and neither is it too runny - its the perfect consistancy. I also find it easy to apply to my skin and it absorbs quickly, some lotions can be too rich and thick and can take a long time to absorb into the skin - but this one is perfect! My skin feels soft and smooth after use, not greasy or tacky which means I can get dressed straight away after applying it. The vanilla scent also stays on my skin for quite a while - a few hours atleast - which is very impressive for a £3 bottle!
I would definitely recommend this body lotion to anyone who loves the scent of vanilla and is looking for a lightweight moisturiser for your body. It smells delicious, leaves your skin feeling lovely and soft, and is easily absorbed and non greasy - definitely a favourite of mine that I will be purchasing again.
I love anything with a vanilla scent and with my body lotion nearly running out, I had to go in search for another one that wasn't as expensive as what I had from Lush. In the end, I decided to give Boots Natural Collection Vanilla Body Lotion a try.
As this is a Boots product, it is only available from Boots stores or Boots online. I picked my bottle of this product up for £3 (a 200ml bottle) but this is sometimes on a 3 for 2 offer along with some other brands and products.
The body lotion comes in a clear, plastic tube so that you can see the colour of the liquid inside. The tube has a plastic cap at the bottom, which makes it able to stand up and this is also where the liquid comes out with. The cap, which flips open, is black which contrasts to the rest of the packaging. On the front of the tube is a picture of vanilla and this makes the product look a little nicer on the shelf.
The flip cap opens really easily so it isn't hard to squeeze the body lotion out. The body lotion itself is a creamy colour which goes with the vanilla scent. The colour of the product and the scent go really well together. This body lotion isn't too thick but neither does it just stream out of the bottle. I think the consistency is really good, especially compared to others I have used before which have been extremely thick. Due to the consistency, the body lotion rubs into the skin easily and you don't need to use excessive amounts.
Once rubbed into my skin, it isn't left feeling clogged up or sticky. This body lotion feels lovely and silky on my skin and also feels light at the same time. My skin soaked up this body lotion really, really well so it meant that I could get dressed near enough straight away without my skin being too wet. Even though the lotion is light, it moisturises well. The vanilla scent is also lovely. While it smells nice, it isn't overpowering. The vanilla smell is fresh and light and lasts a long time once on the skin. Although it doesn't last all day, it does last for a good few hours.
This body lotion is great value for money and while I don't love it quite as much as my Lush equivalent, I would still buy it again.
The Boots Natural Collection Vanilla collection of fragrances, lotions and sprays is one I have been using for a while now. I like the smell of vanilla and this lotion has a nice vanilla smell although it is not as strong as other vanilla products I have used from other companies. I find that this lotion is a bit stronger than the vanilla spray though and I like to use this lotion in conjunction with the spray so I get a nice vanilla coverage of smell on my skin. However, I do quite like the fact that this fragrance is quite light and subtle as sometimes thats nicer than smelling completely of strong overpowering vanilla.
Boots say that this Natural Collection Vanilla Body Lotion softens and smoothes skin with a fresh and light fragrance and that you should use this lotion to refine skin and lock in moisture. I think the lotion has a really nice consistency to it, not too thin and not too thick so its rubs into my skin really well and is perfect for an all over body lotion. Sometimes I find if lotions are too thick you can only really use them for your hands and if they are too thin they don't really stay on your skin well. This lotion is perfect for all over the body. It soaks into my skin well and is not greasy or sticky which is nice.
THe lotion comes in a squeeze tube with a flip top lid at the end. You can stand the lotion up with this lid which is nice and I have it on my chest of drawer in my bedroom. THe packaging is nice and in keeping with the rest of the vanilla range with a picture of a flower on the front. The tube is see-through so you can see the lotion inside.
The vanilla scent is really nice and sweet without being too sickly sweet. The scent is nice but like I said not too heavy so I find by the end of the day the smell has gone from my skin so this lotion doesn't have the longest staying power unfortunately. The price of the lotion is amazing, at just £3 for a tube you can afford to smother your skin in this everyday.
A cheap treat
I do tend to like Natural Collection beauty products - when I was younger I always considered them to be a cheaper version of Body Shop products! Now of course the Body Shop has a lot more competition, but I do still occasionally buy the odd Natural Collection product when I fancy a cheap treat.
The range is available exclusively in Boots, and a tube of this lotion will set you back £3 - although the range is currently part of a 3 for 2 offer. You'll also get 12 Boots Advantage Card points with your purchase. Also in the vanilla range is a shower scrub, shower gel and body spray.
As you can see from the picture, this is very simply packaged in a see-through tube with a black fliptop lid at the base. It is nothing special to look at really! The lotion inside is a nice creamy colour, and is a nice consistency - not too thick but not at all thin either.
Onto the lotion ...
What I like about this lotion is that it sinks into the skin straight away - I hate having to keep rubbing to get creams to sink into the skin which is sometimes the case.
The fragrance of this is very subtle and would be ideal for anyone who wants something that isn't overly strong or sweet. For me personally, I would prefer something a bit stronger as I love vanilla scented products and could handle more of a hit of it! However the scent of this lotion is light and pleasant and gives a nice subtle hint of vanilla.
This leaves skin feeling really nice and soft, although I don;t think it would necessarily be rich enough for very dry skin. But for general every day use it is effective and pleasant to use.
In summary ...
Overall I really like this vanilla lotion and would buy it again. It is well priced and frequently available on special offer in Boots. I would recommend it to those of you who prefer lighter, more subtly scented lotions.
I was given a Boots Natural Collection Vanilla set for my birthday which contained various vanilla scented products within a rather neat gift bag. One of the products contained was this body lotion, which I have just got round to using.
Now vanilla isn't really what I would describe as my scent of choice. Rather, it is quite far from it. I find it sickly sweet so don't usually purchase vanilla scented products. Vanilla flavoured, yes, but for me that is where it should remain. Ice cream not shower gel. Milkshake not body lotion (you get the picture).
But, never one to look a gift horse in the mouth and always thankful for any gifts I receive, I put my previous thoughts and opinions to one side and gave the products a go. The body lotion comes in a squeezy plastic tube-bottle with a black cap. The lotion inside is a pale yellowy cream in colour. Looking online, this retails for £3.
On opening the cap, the first thing I noticed was the smell. It was sweet, yes, but quite soft too and much less overbearing than other vanilla products I had used previously. It was unmistakeably vanilla but in a not-so-in-your-face way. When squeezed from the tube, the lotion was quite runny. It was applied easily to the skin and absorbed pretty rapidly. I found a small dollop of this would adequately cover quite a large area so a few squeezes would suffice for an all body application
The scent of the body lotion remained on my body throughout the day and I would often get a waft to remind me I had applied it. With other sets like this I have received, I have often layered the scent by using the shower gel, body lotion and perfume. This is definitely not something I would recommend with this set as I think the scent would be rather overpowering and sickly in this way - one product at the time for me! The lotion itself was effective - it really moisturised my dry patches and kept them feeling soft to the touch for hours at a time. It was non-greasy to the touch and I found that I could get dressed almost immediately after applying.
Overall, I would say that this is a pretty decent body lotion. It left my skin really soft so no qualms there. However, the scent is just not for me. This is personal taste so I can't really take too much away from the product and it certainly was a softer vanilla than I have smelled previously. I also think £3 is quite a good price to pay so, if vanilla is a scent you like, I would definitely recommend.
This Natural Collection Body Lotion is a product that my sister has used for years and I've 'borrowed' rather often until she eventually got fed up and bought me my own. It costs £3 for a 200ml tube.
It looks exactly as pictured above, the packaging has not been updated since that photo, but I'm sure it will be before long! It is a clear plastic tube which means you can always easily see how much is left and so you know when you need to replace it. It has a flip top lid which make sit very easy and convenient to use, and because it stands on the lid the contents are always ready to come out so you don't have to spend ages shaking and squeezing it.
The lotion is white and quite thin in consistency. It has a smooth creamy texture but it feels really light on my skin. It massages in easily and absorbs fairly quickly. It has the most wonderful vanilla scent, not overly sweet or sickly, just a nice creamy, warm vanilla smell which is lovely and even my boyfriend who doesn't normally like vanilla loves the smell of this.
After using it my skin feels really soft and smooth and very well moisturised. It doesn't leave any kind of residue or greasy heavy feeling like some lotions can, but even though it's quite a light lotion I find it effective even on dry skin and it has smoothed out a few scaly patches on my arms. The scent stays on my skin all day and I've often had people asking 'what's that beautiful smell' when they've caught a waft of it as I've walked past. Saying that though it's not a strong or overpowering smell, it's quite subtle whilst still being noticeable.
All in all this is an excellent body lotion, it smells wonderful and works really well, what more could you want? Highly recommended
I read in a magazine a little while ago that apparently vanilla is the best scent to use in the morning, as it relaxes you and improves your mood, so preparing you for a productive day. So I decided to grab some vanilla shower gel and body lotion (its nice to use both with the same scent, it make you smell nice all day). I got them both from Boots, and the body lotion is gorgeous.
It comes in a clear tube, with a vanilla flower design on the front, which is quite pretty. You can see the product, which is a pale yellow lotion. It has a nice texture, not too heavy, nor too light, so it dosn't make your skin greasy in the mornings (I don't like using really rich moisturisers in the morning, they're too heavy), but does make your skin all soft and smooth.
The scent is not too strong, but you can still smell it; it is subtle enough, but you'll get a nice whiff of it every once in a while through the day. It doesn't cost very much either, I can't remember exactly how much, but I'm sure you won't be spending more than £3-£4 on it. It's a lovely scent to start your day with, and it moisturises quite well. I hope this was helpful, thanks for reading.
As I have mentioned in some of my previous reviews, I like to have the same-scented shower gel and body lotion/butter. Of course, I had to buy Boots Natural Collection Vanilla Body Lotion to go with my shower gel.
It comes in a plastic, transparent tub with a black lid at the bottom (so there is no need to turn the container upside down once you know you are running out of the body lotion). The body lotion has milky-white colour and a fairly strong scent of sweet vanilla. I am sure that all vanilla fans will appreciate this scent, however after some time I got bored with it. It isn't very artificial but you can definitely tell it's not very natural. Also, the scent lasts for quite a long time, both on your skin and in the bathroom (but it definitely cannot compare to the Body Shop scents as these last much longer and are more intense).
I don't have dry skin so I am not very demanding if it comes to body moisturisers. However, I must admit I was quite pleased with this one. After applying it a couple of times my skin became softer and some drier parts of my body became nourished.
I really like the texture of this body lotion - I really hate runny body lotions and it is definitely not the case. Also, I get extremely annoyed when the body moisturiser is so thick that you cannot get any of it out the bottle but again, this doesn't apply to this body lotion. It gets absorbed by the skin fairly quickly (so you can put your clothes on immediately).
Overall, it is a decent body lotion and I am sure that vanilla fans will appreciate it more than I do. On tub costs £2.99 and is available in Boots.
