Advantages: It smells really nice after you've showered
Disadvantages: Doesn't get you as clean as others might
I quite often browse Boots as I like to buy their Natural Collection wild strawberry body spray. When I was in there recently, they had one of their 'Buy two get one free' offers on. As there were only two sprays, I bought the wild strawberry shower cream as my third item. This is usually £1.99 for a 250ml bottle but as it was the cheapest of my three items, it was free. Bargain.
The bottle itself is clear with a loop built-in at the top of the bottle, obviously for hanging onto your shower unit. There is also a flip-top lid, although that should maybe be a flip-bottom lid, as it's at the bottom of the bottle. The liquid within is bright pink in colour and seems quite thick.
So, onto using it. The flip lid opens easily and the design of the bottle makes it easy to squeeze out the shower cream. As it's thick, it comes out in a measured way, so that you can squeeze out only what you need. It smells very heavily of strawberries, with quite a chemical tang to it.
It doesn't lather very well and stays as a cream as you wash with it. One blob of it goes a long way (or a short way, if you're as short as me!) and you can really smell the strawberries as you're washing. It also rinses off well.
The smell does linger after you've dried off after the shower although it's not as overpowering as it might be in the shower. To be honest, I didn't feel as clean as I have done when using shower gels rather than shower creams and I felt that I would have to wash again perhaps earlier than I would have had I used a gel. Not that I'm too much of a stinker, but you get the picture!
After using this shower cream for a number of weeks, I noticed one thing that is very good about it and that's that the design of the flip-bottom lid doesn't let the water in as some shower gels and creams do. This bottle has been hanging under the shower since I got it and it keeps the water out of the lid, in that I haven't noticed the thickness of the liquid changing.
However, when bringing the bottle downstairs to write this review, it does hold water somewhere as it leaked out all over the floor, but I like the fact that it doesn't get into the liquid.
Would I buy this again? Possibly, but only if it's part of an offer.
I know that some people can be allergic to certain ingredients, so for reference, I've listed them below:
Aqua, Sodium laureth sulphate, Cocamidopropyl betaine, Sodium chloride, Cocamide DEA, Glycerin, Phenoxyethanol, Dipropylene glycol, Parfum, Glycol distearate, Laureth-4, Potassium sorbate, Citric acid, Propylene glycol, Tetrasodium EDTA, Disodium phosphate, Fragaria vesca extract, Denatonium benzoate, Benzoic acid, Methylparaben, CI 14700, CI 17200
Summary: The ingredients don't look very Natural Collection to me!
