~No7 Completely Quenched~
No7 is a beauty range which is exclusive to Boots and www.boots.com. Today I will be reviewing the 'Completely Quenched Moisturising Body Lotion'.
This body lotion is designed to kee skin feeling hydrated and soft all day long. The blurb on the tube states that this lotion with 'vanish' into thirsty skin and will leave it looking radiant and healthy. This lotion is hypo-allergenic (as are all No7 products) so is suitable for those who have sensitive skin. It is suitable for all skin types.
No7 have recently revamped their packaging and the packaging for this body lotion has had a lovely make over. The tube is no longer a peachy colour but is a lovely sort of golden colour with a slight pinkness to it. The tube is sleek and looks expensive in my opinion. It is inkeeping with the other No7 bathing and body products. The tube has a screw off lid at the base and the lotion is kept fresh thanks to the little foil seal under the lid. The tube can be recycled and this product has a 24month shelf life from first use.
~Where To Buy~
A 200ml tube of this body lotion can be purchased from www.boots.com or instore. It is currently priced at £10.50 and is part of a 3 for 2 promotion.
I buy a lot of No7 products and have generally good experiences with most of my purchases. I never pay full price for their products and would urge you to keep an eye out for £5.00 off vouchers, 3 for 2 promotions and the free gift offers too. I actually received a travel sized tube of this body lotion in one of the free gift sets (offered when you spend a certain amount on this range) and received a further tube from my Mum who also got the set but didn't plan on using this particular body lotion.
I feel the need to apply body lotion at least once per day as my skin is very dry and bumpy. I favour perfumed body lotions but special trips out or occasions but for day to day use, I like to use a moisturising body lotion. Having used this on and off (alternating with other lotions from my extensive stash) for a few months now, I can't say that it is my favourite body lotion and wouldn't say it is worth the £10.50 cost.
The lotion is easy to dispense from the squeezy tube. The consistency of this body lotion is very nice indeed - it is relatively thick, white and feels extremely cool when applied to warm skin. I find it pleasant to use after a hot shower as it cools and soothes my skin instantly. The lotion has a smooth texture and spreads well across my skin with very little needed per use. I normally opt to apply this lotion to my arms, legs, chest and tummy area. The scent of this lotion reminds me of sun lotion - fresh, creamy and with a delicate powdery undertone. The scent is light and whilst it lingers a little on my skin, it never comes across as being too heavy or overpowering - just right for me.
So - application is easy but how well does it perform as a body lotion? As a busy Mum, I don't have much time in the mornings to sit and wait for body lotions to soak into my skin. I prefer a fast absorbing body lotion to allow me to get on with my daily routine. This particular body lotion doesn't 'vanish' into thirsty skin as advised. No matter how long I massage it across my skin, my skin feels tacky and a tad sticky for a good 10 minutes after application. This, in turn, limits how quickly I can get dressed and out the door so isn't as practical to use in the mornings as I would have preferred as my clothes cling to my skin tacky skin!
My skin does feel lovely once this body lotion fully sinks into it. I find that it works best on the areas of skin which are less dry. Yes, my skin does feel soft and smooth all over for an hour or so but the rough and dry areas on my arms, elbows and knees make a reappearance after this short period of time. My less dry areas including my tummy and chest area feel more hydrated through the day and generally my skin feels comfortably soothed and lightly hydrated but the results definitely fall short of offering 'all day hydration' as promised. This puts me off using this on a more regular basis as it just doesn't provide enough moisturisation for my dry skin. It is gentle though and I haven't experienced any irritation from using it on my sensitive skin. I do like the way my skin looks healthy and less irritated after applying this lotion but wouldn't describe it as being 'radiant'.
The packaging is stylish, the lotion smells gorgeous and it works well on normal skin but the drawbacks are how long it takes to absorb and the lack of effectiveness on dry skin. It is a shame as I really want to love this body lotion but if it doesn't seem to be for my dry skin. If you have normal skin with very little dryness, you may find that it works much better on your skin and therefore I would recommend trying it. Definitely wait for a promotion though or it could be costly!
I will award this body lotion four stars as it does perform on normal skin and it wouldn't be fair of me to drop a further star based on it not being perfect for dry skin as it doesn't claim to be specifically for dry skin. It is a lovely product to use but I wouldn't personally buy it. My two tubes have lasted well so I would estimate that a 200ml tube would last around 6-8weeks with daily use. It is pleasant to apply after showering with the 'Blissful Body Wash' that No7 offer as they carry a similar scent.
Thanks for reading :)
I recieved a full size Boots No7 Completely Quenched Luxurious Moisture Lotion at Christmas as part of a large body and bathing giftset. Over the last few months I have been trying out the various products, and now I have got to the end of the bottle, I thought it was time to review this lotion.
When bought seperately, 200ml of the lotion costs £10.50. Mine came in a slender bottle, but having checked in my local Boots, I have noticed that it usually comes in a squeezy tube when not part of a giftset. This is probably an improvement, as my bottle has a pump action top that doesn't work at all well. I think the lotion is too thick to dispense easily in this way. I have had to unscew the top and turn the botttle upside down to get any out more often than not. I very much hope that the tube style packaging is adopted by Boots for their gift sets too!
Boots describe the lotion as "light, airy and quickly absorbed", giving all day long moisturising. They say it will soften and smooth your skin as well as even out its texture. It is inteneded to be suitable for all skin types. My body skin is mostly what I would call "normal" - it isn't very dry or greasy. I have a few drier patches though such as my elbows and around my knees so I pay particular attention to these when moisturising.
The lotion is scented but it is not overpoweringly so. I would describe the smell as a mixture of sun lotion and baby lotion, developing into a sort of rose-like aroma once on the skin. I like the scent more than that of the other No7 bath and body items that I have tried because it more delicate and subtle. This means I enjoy using it more than I thought I would. As mentioned above, the cream is thick, but it feels surprisingly light on the skin, even if I would not quite agree with Boots description of it as "airy". I have found that you do not need to apply much at once as it spreads over the skin generously. In fact it is wise to be a little cautious with application. The initial white look of the lotion on the skin disappears quickly, but I have been left with a greasy looking sheen afterwards that takes much longer to massage away. The shine at first is comparable in appearance to an oily sun lotion on the skin. Thankfully, this does eventually disappear, but I would not describe this product as fast absorbing at all. My hands are also left with a rather clammy and slightly sticky feel after I have used them to massage in the lotion extensively.
Once the lotion is finally absorbed, my skin does feel immediately softer. I used the moisturiser on one side of my body only at first, and there was a clear difference to the feel of my skin between the areas that I had used it on, and those I had not. This feeling remained with daily use, so I quickly apllied it to my other half too! I do not think that the lotion has made a huge difference to my drier areas however. My elbow skin still felt rough and dry, after carefully massaging the lotion in every day for 3 weeks. I am not sure it would therefore be very effective at softening very dry skin. As for evening out my skin texture, I can say it made no difference whatsoever. My skin did look slightly better in terms of overall appearance, in that it looked fresher and a little brighter. However, in terms of increased radiance, the effects of this lotion fall far behind that of other body lotions I have used - such as cocoa butter. The results are also not very long lasting. The added softness of my skin, while lovely to feel at first, was not still apparent the day after use.
In conclusion, I would expect a moisturiser labelled as "luxorious" to be a bit more special. It does soften my skin, but it does little to improve it's appearance. In terms of all round performance I think it falls behind less expensive body moisturisers such as Palmers cocoa butter, and even Superdrug's own version for that matter. For this reason, I can't rate it more highly, as I think it is disappointing value for money. I won't buy it again myself, and I would not recommend it to others looking for either an intensive or easily absorbed moisturiser.

This is a review of No7 Completely Quenched moisturising body lotion, a tube which I have been using on and off for the last three months. The tube is 200ml and was received as a gift from my Mum as she knows I love the No7 range. She asked the girl on the counter what was popular and apparently she recommended this product. I'm not sure I'd do that in case they try and sell you something they need to shift sales wise but perhaps that is just being cynical.
Price and size
The tube costs £10 for 200 ml but I would recommend buying in a three for two offer or using one of the frequent £5 off No7 vouchers that Boots often issue. Even better of course, get your points as well I always feel like I've got a bargain when I come out of Boots (even when I haven't) due to their points system.
The packaging for this item is also really pretty, in a peach coloured tube with silver pattern detail it feels like a luxury item, which at £10, I suppose it is! The lid is a pearlised plastic cap that you squeeze the product through but it also screws off which I find helpful when you're getting to the end of the product.
I like to use this on arms, legs, torso and it needs five minutes to sink in or it will go on your clothes. I usually use mine before bed so it has all night to do its magic! It leaves your skin so soft and silky and supple. A small amount goes a long way and is quickly absorbed in to the skin.
I love this product and am sad I am nearing the end of the tube. I would not pay £10 for it but I think all No7 products are now priced to take the voucher scheme in to account. It must work for Boots as they often repeat the deal. At £5 I think this is a fair price and the nice packaging makes it a nice gift too if you are looking for a small treat for a friend. I think the consistency of this moisturiser is lovely and light and although I like using body butters too I don't like to use them all the time so it's nice to use one that's a bit more runny but has great results on your skin too.
The tube has lasted longer than I thought it would, having been used a few times a week for around three months. I can't fault the product's performance and it is lightly fragranced but not overpowering. I would recommend to a friend and I would repurchase so am happy to give this five dooyoo stars.
