Advantages: Nice minty taste, not too expensive, feels gentle compared to Listerine
Disadvantages: Doesn't claim to show visible results like Dentyl
As I am on a spending cutback as far as toiletries and beauty products go, I've swapped my usual Listerine mouthwash for this Boots brand. This isn't as much of a hardship as it might sound, as I'm finding the Listerine mouthwash a bit strong and wanted something more mild.
***The Taste***
I think I may be using a different flavour to the review title as my mouthwash is blue in colour (rather than the blue-green colour that you can see in the above product image). The taste is definitely minty, but nothing too strong and I can easily swill it around in my mouth for the required amount of time without it overpowering me. The minty taste seems to linger for a bit afterwards, giving that a nice feeling of freshness.
***The Results***
It's not that easy to see the results of this mouthwash as it doesn't claim to pull bacteria from your mouth or show any visible results in the sink afterwards. When I first started using this mouthwash, I had been suffering from a bit of gum bleeding after having four wisdom teeth out and this seemed to quickly help my gums to sort themselves out within a day or so. Thinking that it may just have been coincidence, I switched back to the Listerine to see if that had the same effect and was rather surprised to find that the bleeding actually resurfaced again. That led me to wonder if the Listerine is too harsh compared to this?
My mouth definitely feels fresher after a couple of weeks of using this mouthwash. I'm not sure how much plaque it is helping to remove but I have noticed less of a plaque build-up in the hours of using this - even if I am drinking or eating fairly sugary things.
***The Price***
I picked my bottle up for £2 in my local Boots store.
Summary: Not bad for the price and seems to be doing a good enough job

- 12/08/09 The one I last used looked greeny blue and tasted like Germolene so I have not been brave enough to try a boots one since! x |
