About five years ago one Christmas. I was given a gift set of Boots Royal Jelly body care. It contained hand Lotion, body lotion and a bar of beauty soap. It is the soap I am going to talk about in this review. It is a soap that you can use all over, even on your face. The skin on my face tends to be a little oily and a little sensitive at times so what to clean my face with has always been a problem. If I do not use any kind of cleanser at all on my face it does go very oily but on the other hand if I do, even some of the things like Dove bar and face washes leave my face feeling tight and dry. When I got this little gift set I thought I would have ... Read the complete review

Boots the chemist is a big favourite when it comes to shopping for toiletries and the likes and as well as looking for brand names stuff I also like to try the Boots own brand stuff as it is usually very good. Their soaps in particular can be very good, always of high quality and in the main very kind to the skin. I have used everything from the Boots mild hand soap to some of their more outlandish soaps such as their honey and milk body soap and their angelic apricot soap. I find that although I did get a bit itchy and dry from one Boots soap some time ago, that in the main they do no harm even to my sensitive skin. Price ... Read the complete review

I did a fair bit of Christmas shopping in our local branch of Boots this year. This was partly to do with the fact that there were some decent offers on and partly to do with the fact that I was collecting stickers to get free soft toys (I ended up with a lion and a tiger incidentally) Anyway, whenever I go into Boots my first stop is always the Advantage card machine where you can get vouchers for bonus points on certain items or certain levels of spend. This was how I came to be walking round Boots with a voucher for bonus points if I purchased an item from the Boots Fresh range. The range of items based on a food theme looked quite ... Boots Lavender and Rosemary Handwash Soap is one of those things everyone uses (well I hope they do) and probably don’t think much about it. Soap originated from Ancient Rome around 1,000 B.C. at a place called Sapo Hill where animals were sacrificed. The Roman women used to wash their clothes in the river Tiber below the hill and noticed that their clothes became cleaner easier when they came into contact with the soapy clay that was dripping down the hill and into the water. Later it was realised that this “soap” was a mixture of the animal fat soaking through the wood ashes and into the clay soil. Obviously soap has undergone many changes ... Read the complete review

In a moment of madness I decided I needed a luxury soap to spend several hours in the bath with. I sniffed around those on offer in Boots and found the Macaroon Moon. Athough you couldn't smell it very well through the packaging it it described itself as a macaroon smell. Oh boy, hmmm hmmm. Smells good. Subtle, but distinctive, it has that almondy fragrance that you associate with Macaroons. It lathers beautifully and is actually quite moisturising. The smell is not enough to interfere with your perfume, but it is enough to keep your husbands hands off (unless he likes that sort of thing). Well worht treating yourself too. ...
