I love going on holiday although sitting in the sun for hours on end is not my idea of fun. Don't get me wrong, I love warm weather but in the direct glare of the sun I get far too hot and in any case I unfortunately have the sort of skin that doesn't instantly adopt that all over coffee colour with which others seem blessed. I burn if I don't take protection and so I tend to find myself sitting in the shade more often than not. But, you can't stay there for ever. At some time you have to venture out into the sun. No matter how long for, to do so without protection against the harmful effects of sunlight would be foolish. In my case it is my head that ... Read the complete review

When I went on holiday this summer to the Dominican Republic I made the mistake of putting some sun tan lotion in my hand luggage. I was aware that there were regulations for taking liquids on planes but I though if you put them in a plastic bag it would be ok. However you are only allowed to take 100ml and the bottle I had was 250ml, I was devasted at having to throw away a £10 bottle of suncream. After that I was unsure of whether it would be cheaper to buy some more at the airport or wait until I got abroad. I decided to have a look in Boots and came across Boots Soltan Once. I would normally buy Nivea but loved the idea of only applying sun cream once ... Read the complete review

I bought Boots Soltan Once SPF40 for about £9 in Boots a couple of weeks ago- I got a great deal as it was on buy one get one free- at the time of writing that offer is still on. When I went to buy sun protection there was a lot of choice- but Boots was the cheapest and I like millions of others, feel it is a brand I can trust-so why pay more? ONCE claims to offer triple protection against long term skin damage. Yesterday, was a scorcher and a friend and I went shopping and then to sit in a pub garden for a drink and a chat-when we got back home, I couldn't help but notice that her arms were bright red and mine were still feeling and looking fine. ... Boots Soltan Once Lotion is fantastic for anyone who, like me, has pale skin and so burns very easily at the mere suggestion of sunlight. Last summer I got badly sunburnt on one side of my face from only spending 20 minutes standing outside in July, and was left peeling bits of my face off for about three weeks. Since I was going away to Europe for a month this summer and knew that a lot of the places I was going to were likely to be sunny and hot, I decided to go for the best sun protection that I could get, and so headed off to Boots. At the time they had a buy one get one free offer on their own brand Soltan suncream, so I got one 'normal' suncream at factor 25, and ... Read the complete review

Boots Soltan Once is a very high suntan lotion, I used the SPF 30 version which is rated as 5 star ultra UVB protection and is recommeded for skin tones that burn easily. The lotion comes in both 150ml and 250 ml sizes both presented in a large squeezy plastic tune not dissimilr to an overly large toothpaste tube. Handily the lid is hinged to that it can be easily opened and closed with one hand, it also makes ir easier when you are stick from the lotion and you don't end up putting a detachable lid down to get dirty. This lotion is designed to be applied once to give upto 6 hours protection, because of this it is quite a thick consistency abit like ... Read the complete review
