Advantages: Lasts for up to 6 hours

Disadvantages: Takes a while to rub in- but not really a problem

I bought Boots Soltan Once SPF40 for about £9 in Boots a couple of weeks ago- I got a great deal as it was on buy one get one free- at the time of writing that offer is still on. When I went to buy sun protection there was a lot of choice- but Boots was the cheapest and I like millions of others, feel it is a brand I can trust-so why pay more?

ONCE claims to offer triple protection against long term skin damage.

Yesterday, was a scorcher and a friend and I went shopping and then to sit in a pub garden for a drink and a chat-when we got back home, I couldn't help but notice that her arms were bright red and mine were still feeling and looking fine. She had applied a sun cream as well - I had used ONCE- so it gets my vote.

One application will last for up to 6 hours as long as you haven't had a bath or shower in that time or spent longer in the water than forty minutes, or If you opt not to dry naturally when you come out of the water i.e by towel drying. In all those cases you need to reapply. That to me is a real selling point as how many of us remember that we should be reapplying, don't, and suffer the consequences- I know I have in the past.

You only need 3 tablespoons of the product to cover the entire body- and bearing in mind we are not often exposing that much- I think my 2 tubes of 150ml will see last me for ages.

It takes a little while to rub in as opposed to the more liquid applications, personally I don't have an issue with that as I would rather spend longer every 6 hours than have to remember to spend a short time frequently. Let's face it unless you are on holiday, ut is unlikely that you would be exposed for longer than 6 hours.

Having rubbed it in you should allow it to dry for fifteen minutes before you expose yourself to the sun's rays.

I think I made a good choice and even after this short time, it will take a very very special product or offer to make me switch from the protection.

Summary: Cost Effective protection

I have found this great for stopping me burning but I did notice that it started to stain my clothes so I tend to save it for bikini days now x
