... dries quite quickly, I had exfoliated and moisturised with a fragrance-free lotion beforehand. However, since the mousse isn't tinted it's difficult to know exactly where it's been applied. I thought I had applied it everywhere until the next day.. The directions are very vague, something which isn't useful for first-timers. I had printed a guide to applying self-tan previously and so had a better idea, but the directions don;t say when you can put clothes back on etc. I let the mousse dry in for about 40 minutes bef...more

Premium Review Boots Soltan Self Tan Mousse: Better for self-tan experts! (480 words)

I'm going on holiday in 3 weeks and so had to decide on how to get a tan as I definitely can't go on holiday being whiter than a ghost! I decided against sunbeds due to the health risks and having just had moles removed. So, I went to Boots to look for a self-tan. Since I never use self-tan I wasn't sure which one to go for, but I had heard some good comments about Soltan self-tan range that I decided to give it a go, plus it was on offer at £4.66! I chose the Light version of the self-tan no streaks mousse, which also comes in Medium, but since I'm so pale and a self-tan virgin I decided the lightest shade was probably best! The mousse itself is nice and light and ...  Read the complete review

Three months I won this in a packet of prizes. Last week, with the good weather (though I like the weather, I don't want skin care so instead of hours of sunbathing and burnt skin, I opted for faking it) I decided I wasn't going to be the palest person on the planet and got to work. I normally use the Piz Buin fake tan and I'm never used mousse before. There's no category for the light mousse so I hope you don't mind me put it in the Medium section. ++Variety, the price and availability ++ There are only two mousses. Soltan Self Tan No Streaks Mousse Light and Soltan Self Tan No Streaks Mousse Medium. Also there's sprays, wipes or lotion in the ...  Read the complete review

I recently came across an old photograph of myself perched on the back of a boat off the Costa Brava, hand on the tiller and wearing not much more than a tan. Nowdays I doubt I would be allowed to steer a boat full of passengers just by smiling at the Spanish boatman who then happily took my picture. This could be something to do with the fact that the smile may still be there but the photo is over 20 years old. As for the tan, I have to be a lot more careful to look after my skin and don't allow it to be cooked by the sun any more. Hopefully for our health, sunbathing may become less fashionable, but for those of us with reasonably fair skin and a ...  Read the complete review
