Advantages: Very effective and not too sticky

Disadvantages: Just don't sweat!

As someone who spends a fair bit of time in sub-Saharan Africa, a decent Sun Lotion is a must. I'm also very fair skinned and the anti-malarial medication required in Africa has the rather unfortunate drawback of making your skin very sensitive to light. (I learnt the truth of this when sitting outside for a couple of hours, in the complete shade, without my shirt on and suffering the worst case of lightburn ever.)

However, this stuff is a lifesaver. Although I've also used higher factors, the factor 15 of this Sun Lotion does a great job. Yes, it tells you to apply every 1-2 hours and I'm sure that's extremely good advice, but even when I've only applied once all day, it does the business under the equatorial sun.

OK, all sun lotions are sticky but this is not so bad and, on occasions, I've even applied when there's been nowhere to wash my hands and I've coped without making everything I touch a sticky mess.

The insect repellant is also a bonus, although insects are really only a problem in Africa at night when you're better off applying a proper deet spray rather than sun lotion!

The only drawback to the stuff is that it is rather painful in the eyes and I speak from genuine experience. However well it is rubbed into the forehead, as soon as you get a good sweat up the stuff starts running into the eyes. Ouch!

Still, that's the same with all sun lotions that I've tried and this stuff does do everything that it claims to do. I recommend it.
