I've been toying with the idea of buying an epilator for a while and finally took the plunge when I saw it in Sainsbury's for around £33. I was very reluctant to pay anything more than this as I am a big wimp when it comes to pain and couldn't be sure that I would ever pluck up the courage to use it again if the pain was too bad! ***The Epilator*** My epilator came with two changeable heads - the beaded one that you can see on the product image above, and a 'flatter' one. I have yet to use the latter and have stuck to the beaded one. There are two power settings but I am too scared to move it past the lowest one as the tweezers seem to speed up a lot when ... My biggest worry when I was getting an epilator was that it would hurt. I'd waxed my legs and bikini line before and didn't have a problem with the pain, but everyone always goes on about how painful epilating is. What I didn't realise is that they weren't comparing it to waxing, they were comparing it to shaving. It's about the same as waxing (after all, you're doing basically the same thing) but epilators - at least, this one - come with lots of gadgets to ease the pain, whereas you don't generally get that with wax kits. In the box you get the epilator body, two different heads, two different attachments, a plug, a brush to clean it with, an ice pack thing ... Read the complete review

For some reason, despite being blonde and fairly dainty in other respects, I've been cursed with leg hair that belongs to someone else - someone like my big grizzly bear of a boyfriend! It grows so fast that I usually have to shave my legs every day in the summer, which is a right pain. I've tried hair removal creams and found it just took longer, smelt horrible and didn't last any better, and waxing which brought me out in nasty bumps and didn't even get all the hairs. Bah. Anyway, I thought I'd give this a try as I had nothing to lose other than the 50 quid it cost me from Argos (although it's probably available cheaper online), and I've probably spent that loads ... Shaving or waxing it is a nightmare, you forever seem to be shaving your legs and within days you have to do it all over again. So hearing a few good reviews about an epilator I decided to bite the bullet and buy one and I am so glad that I did I have not looked back since. An epilator is a machine that has mini tweezers and pulls the hair out from the root. The Braun Epilator that I purchased was great it gives me soft silky skin for 2 weeks. If you read the literature is says hair free for up to 4 weeks and I have never been that lucky. The Braun Epilator has two speeds and it runs off the mains with a 12 volt adapter and come in a ... When the summer rolls around I tend to have a dabble with waxing, hair removal creams etc but, unsuccessful, resort to shaving. But I hate stubble! This year, I decided to try out an epilator. AN EPI-WHAT? An epilator is an electrical appliance with several rows of tweezers which pluck out hairs from the root, giving a similar long-lasting smooth effect to waxing without having to shell out on home kits or going to a salon. Like waxing, it's not entirely pain-free! OPTIONS AVAILABLE It seems that the main factor people consider when choosing an epilator is the level of pain, so it's unsurprising that most of the differences in ... Read the complete review
