Advantages: It works and has a shaver and attachments for bikini line/underarms
Disadvantages: It takes getting used to, is pricey and you need to buy an adapter plug.
I ordered this epilator as a complete newcomer to the world of epilation. I'm also a wimp, hence never having tried these appliances before.
Unlike waxing, this won't rip your skin off, and it also did not miss any hairs, again, unlike waxing.
The epilator itself comes in an attractive presentation box, with ample instructions, an adaptor lead to charge and a pouch full of the other heads and accessories, including a shaver appliance for the faint-hearted. It was at this point that I discovered the epilator is sparkly white, rather than plain white, and it looks pretty.
First of all, I tried it on my legs completely without preparation, and then I tried it after a bath (making sure I was dry and had no soapy residue on my skin). It is less painful after a bath because your pores are opened by the heat of the water.
The shape of the device is very comfortable and easy to hold and manouevre, and I could tell these were of a very good quality, which I believe justifies the price. I also looked at reviews for their older model from last year, and was impressed by the consistently high feedback they had received.
I was surprised just how noisily these epilators operate but then again, it distracts from the discomfort, which I also found I got used to relatively easily. YOu will experience a little redness, but even my sensitive skin calmed down quickly.
I have only just received these epilators so cannot comment on regrowth, but in time, I shall add a comment below to expand on this.
I'd recommend these to anyone in the market for an epilator, whether it's your first or your thirty-first, although I think these will last a long time so you probably won't be buying any more in a hurry.
I forgot to mention that it does require you to buy a shaver adaptor plug, which are available on Amazon; it's a 2-pin affair. I also should say it charges very quickly and efficiently and does not overheat during charging or use.
Being honest, I had red blotches for pores for a couple of hours. But they soon went down, and unlike post-waxing, it didn't sting when I had a shower this morning, so I couldn't recommend it more. I don't think you're meant to shower/bathe for a few hours immediately after. I found that using an ice-pack/frozen veg helped close the pores too.
I also used the shaver today for the first time; as in the shaver attachment for this epilator, and I can say it works well and doesn't cause nicks or irritation at all.
Summary: The best epilator on the market; the latest model from Braun.
