Advantages: Easy to use, relatively painfree!

Disadvantages: None

I absolutely love this epilator and am slightly obsessed with it!!

Before purchasing this epilator I had never used one before because I was too scared that it would be incredibly painful! But after thinking about it for a while I decided that it would be worth putting up with if it meant having smoother legs for longer! I've never really been a fan of waxing, finding it too time consuming and costly, so I thought that epilating might be a good alternative, since it is something I can do and home and can start and stop without causing lots of mess.

When I first turned on the epilator it shocked me slightly as it was so noisy and looked really menacing with the epilator head spinning round! Deciding to bite the bullet I placed the epilator against my leg and began to move it upwards. I can honestly say I didn't find it painful, and I don't think I have a particularly high pain threshold. It wasn't the most comfortable experience but it wasn't one which I would describe as painful. I think the level of pain experienced when epilating correlates to the length of hair, I caught some longer hairs on my leg and it was quite painful. So it is best to use it when the hair is at the shortest length to be caught in the tweezers. I also think the fact that the epilator has 40 tweezers helps as more hairs are caught at once meaning that any painful sensation isn't more prolonged than it has to be!

After finding using the epilator of my legs to be relatively pain free I decided to try my arm pits. The first attempt did not go well, and was fairly painful. I hadn't stretched the skin properly and the epilator just ended up trying to pinch my skin!! Attempt two was somewhat more successful, I made sure that the hairs were very short and that the skin was taunt by resting my hand on the back of my shoulder. I then placed the epilator where the hair was and moved it over the area, it was more painful than my legs but it was very bearable, it was just a more unpleasant feeling and felt a bit hot and tender for a while afterwards. After epilating this area it lasted for ages, I did it before I went on holiday and didn't need to do it again for about a week after I'd returned. Epilating this area is definitely beneficial in the summer; it takes slightly longer than shaving but lasts so much longer! I also felt like it was a more complete job in this area because it was smaller and easier not to miss anything!

Returning to the epilator itself, it comes in a small silver case which fits the epilator, the attachment heads and the plug into it easily. The epilator is mainly white with a pale green insert around the sides and bottom. The white has a subtle glittery iridescent effect and over all the epilator has a clean look. The epilator is also equipped with a light which is on constantly while the epilator is in use, this is helpful for highlighting finer hairs which you may have missed when epilating. The epilator is controlled by a dial and comes with two speeds; I normally use the second higher speed as there seems no point using the first. The epilator also came with three attachment caps to fit over the epilator heads; an efficiency cap; beginners cap; and normal cap. The normal and beginners cap are fitted with a 'massage system' which looks to me light mini plastic spikes on rings separated by rings with nothing on them. I haven't found the massaging system to be very helpful in reducing any painful sensations created by using the epilator and I found it more annoying and scratchy than helpful, so I generally use the efficiency cap which has none of the massaging rings on it and exposes the biggest area of the epilator for use. Another thing that I really like about this epilator is the fact that it is all washable and thus hygienic. The epilator also comes with a little brush to clean the epilating head. It is easy to take the epilating head off to clean it under a running tap; there is a green button on the back of the epilator which when pushed in releases the epilating head.
This epilator comes with a two pronged shaver plug for use in bathrooms, so I had to purchase an adapter to use it from normal mains; this was relatively inexpensive so it didn't bother me too much.

After getting this epilator I was raving about it to lots of my friends and as a result of this and letting them use it to show how little it hurts three of my friends went on to purchase epilators! And although some of my friends did think it was quite painful, and I didn't, they were impressed with the effect enough to get one!

If you're thinking about getting this epilator I would definitely recommend it!!

Summary: A great epilator which makes hair removal long lasting and somewhat painless!
