Butter yourself but refrain from eating yourself!
Member Name: angelboouk
Advantages: gorgeous smell, soft skin. feels luxurious, packaging
Disadvantages: it is pricey but lasts well
Soap and Glory offer a range of body creams and today, I will be reviewing Butter Yourself 'Smoothing Body Cream'.
Butter Yourself contains a selection of fruits and moisturising ingredients to leave your skin super soft. It is also free from parabens. Ingredients in this body butter include peppermint oil, fig, orange waterjuice, shea butter and exfoliating AHAs. Those with allergies may wish to check the full ingredients list on www.boots.com. Butter Yourself is enriched with S&Gs 'Fruitigo' fragrance which is a blend of orange oil, frozen yuzu, pomelo essence and green fig. The same fragrance can be found in the Foam Call shower wash, the Pulp Friction body scrub and a body lotion.
This body cream is presented in a pink, plastic tub which has a screw top lid. The packaging is very girly in appearance but most importantly, is very practical to remove the body cream from but perhaps not as hygenic as a tube would be. As with other S&G products, there is a retro printed lid. It is worth noting that the tub can be recycled once empty and this body cream has a 24month shelf life from first opening.
~Where To Buy~
A 300ml tub of Butter Yourself can be bought from Boots and www.boots.com priced at £10.50. Boots currently offer S&G products on a 3 for 2 promotion.
I love the Soap and Glory brand and treat myself to their products occasionally. I particularly love their thick body butters and creams so couldn't resist buying Butter Yourself. My favourite in the range is Righteous Butter but I am always happy to try out their new products out of interest mainly and because I love trying new beauty products.
Butter Yourself is an absolute treat to apply whether before bed, after a morning shower or just whenever I want to give my skin a bit of pampering. The cream itself is pale peach in colour and super thick so you need to scoop it out the tub with your fingers. The cream is very rich in texture and once spread on to my skin, it spreads like a dream as it adopts a creamy and very soft consistency. I don't need to apply a lot of this for a positive effect. A small blob per area of skin is more than sufficient as the cream spreads so well.
I love the way this cream feels on my skin. I suffer from dry and sensitive skin and most recently, have had a little too much of the sun after a day out not realising how hot it actually was (silly I know) I was caught unaware so didn't have any aftersun in the house but applied some of this body cream to my arms whilst my fiance applied some to my back. The cooling sensation I experienced was immense. This cream feels cold and soothing and quickly took the heat out of my skin leaving it feel more comfortable.
As an everyday body cream, this performs really well. My thirsty skin drinks up the cream quickly and no residue is left on my skin. It is fair to say that the cream melts into my skin leaving it moisturised. Not only does my skin feel silky smooth to the touch, it feels pampered and moisturised deep down and gently exfoliated. I find it to work a treat on dry and rough patches of skin (elbows, tops of arms and knees) as it buffs the area gently and leaves it feel super smooth. The results last for most of the day when applied after my morning shower.I do like to use it alongside Pulp Friction for best results though but it will work alongside any body scrub. I use it alongside the body scrub once per week but on its own more frequently with excellent results. I find that my skin looks healthy and feels very refreshed which makes this an ideal product to use during the warmer months.
I like the scent of this body cream but can't say that I prefer it over the scent of Righteous Butter. It has the same scent as the body scrub so I had an idea of what to expect before I brought my tub home from Boots. The scent is quite strong when in the tub and can be a little overpowering at first. Once the cream has melted into my skin, the scent is a little more subtle but still has a refreshing, Summery and exotic air about it. It is a rich fruity aroma with a creamy, coconut undertone. A pleasant and highly appealing scent which is evident on my skin for a good few hours.
I would say that this one of my favourite body creams at the moment and this is mainly down to the cooling nature of it and the gorgeous Summery scent that it offers. This cream is very effective at delivering long lasting hydration to my dry skin and it smells absolutely lush. It is of a high quality and is extremely gentle against my sensitive skin. I would say that I still favour Righteous Butter but for different reasons. This is an excellent body cream which is luscious to use and represents good value for money as not much is needed per use. I apply it all over my body a few times per week and my 300ml tub is lasting well.
Summary: a creamy treat for dry skin
