Advantages: Cleans your hands without the need for water or towel/drier, smell.

Disadvantages: None.

When you're out and about it's not always easy to keep your hands clean, less so if you've got kids. Hand dryers don't always dry your hands properly after you've washed them and that's all assuming there are public conveniences available to wash your hands in the first place.

Being out & about and having eaten something like a bag of chips or a burger, you're often left with sticky or greasy hands. I sometimes keep wet wipes in the car, but even then you're often left with the wetness of them on your hands.

My Aunty first introduced me to the benefits of hand gel and, of course, you often see bottles of the stuff in the wards and corridors of hospitals.

I picked up a 50ml bottle of Carex Hand Gel Sensitive from Superdrug for £1.38. Carex also do an Aloe Vera version, but I decided to stick with the Sensitive one. I didn't think it was a bad price to pay for something that will keep my hands clean when I need it.

Carex Hand Gel Sensitive comes in a small plastic bottle. Once you take the lid off, you simply pump the gel into your hand and rub it all over both hands (making sure it goes on your fingers, palms and backs of your hands). At first you might think it's not going to dry and you're going to be left with sticky hands, but within seconds of rubbing it into your hands they are completely dry!

Magic, eh?!

I do find that the gel smells alcoholly (not a real word, I know, but keep with me), but it doesn't leave your hands smelling like that. In fact, I don't think they smell of anything after having the gel rubbed into them, which is fine with me.

The 50ml bottle apparently provides 100 applications, but I'm guessing this all depends on how much you pump into your hands. I actually press the pump twice as I don't think it gives you enough with just one push of the pump. Still, I've used this a few times now and I've hardly made a dent into the gel in this little bottle, so it looks like it's going to last me a while.

As it's only a 50ml bottle, it is the perfect size to stick in your handbag or even in a pocket... Perfect for a night out (how many times does beer, lager, wine, etc spill on your hands when you're carrying a round?!) or even for a day out. It's so small, you can take it anywhere with you.

This hand gel will leave your hands (and your kids' hands) feeling clean and it promises to kill 99.9% of bacteria. I wouldn't be without mine, now I've got it, and wouldn't hesitate to recommend it to others.

Summary: Handgel for your handbag!

I like this hand gel as like you say the smell isn't too overpowering of alcohol like some other gels on the market.
