Advantages: Safe, kills bacteria, easy to use, small

Disadvantages: Can dry out hands

My nephew was born premature, he needed extra special care and treatment at home. Everything had to be cleaned and made safe for him. When visiting one day I saw this hand gel being used and was impressed at how quickly it cleaned my hands and left them feeling dry. I went out on the hunt and found one in Boots - it was the Aloe Vera version. It cost me no more than one pound for a small 50g bottle.

The packaging is simple (which I prefer), clear and informative. No complex or tricky applicators. Just a simple pull off top with a pump inside. Once pressed a small pea shape gel emits which is more then enough to clean your hands both front and back. I have bought 4 - one I keep in my nappy bag which is useful when being out and about and not near toilets after a nappy change! One I keep in my car - great for when filling up petrol and sometimes you have black marks on your hands. I keep one in my bag - if I eat something nice and sticky (doughnut) for lunch I can easily clean my hands after. The last bottle is kept in the garage - after my hubby does some work he likes to wash his hands and then use the bottle to make sure it's clean.

I do find it extremely useful and use it every day. It kills 99.9% of bacteria and can get about 100 uses out of one bottle. I have found that it sometimes leaves my skin feeling too dry and have had to moisturise after, but would not stop using it because of that reason alone. I do have eczema on my skin and have not found it to irritate as of yet. I certainly would recommend it and have done to a few mums who find it hard to clean hands after a nappy change when out.

Summary: When a wipe is too wet and a tissue too dry!
