I'm by no means a germ-phobic kind of person, but I tend to eat out and travel around quite a bit, and there are few things more annoying to me than using a toilet, going to wash your hands and finding there's no hand wash. Especially when you're about to eat food! So I bought some hand wash to carry around, thinking it would also come ... Read the complete review

Given the recent swine flu pandemic, it appears that everyone has taken to adopting the cleanliness stance. I have to admit, I have not been entirely convinced by the panic and have been rather sceptical about the flu and its effects. However, I decided to at least take some precaution and bought this hand gel. When I have visited ... Read the complete review

I am a city girl, on and off of trains and buses all day, touching lift buttons, door handles, computer keyboard and coffee machines. Germs are everywhere and a big thing to me. I cannot keep a bowl of hot soapy water constantly with me or tucked away in my handbag so I invested in a little bottle of Carex Hand Sanitiser gel. This fab little ... Read the complete review

My nephew was born premature, he needed extra special care and treatment at home. Everything had to be cleaned and made safe for him. When visiting one day I saw this hand gel being used and was impressed at how quickly it cleaned my hands and left them feeling dry. I went out on the hunt and found one in Boots - it was the Aloe Vera version. It ... Read the complete review

A few months ago I was at my parent's house and had a slight cough and cold, nothing serious but I was not feeling 100%. My mum was most concerned that I did not pass my germs onto my Dad as having been seriously ill in the past his immune system is low and she didn't want me passing my cold onto him. I am always really considerate ... Read the complete review

I brought a bottle of Carex Hand Gel last week on the recommendation of a friend. I purchased it from Boots but it is available to buy from stores such as Superdrug, Savers, Lloyds Chemists etc. Apart from when visiting hospitals, using hand gel is something which I have never really thought about in the past, but with all the negative press ... This is a really handy product to have at home and in your bag for out and about. If you need to clean your hands but can't get to a sink this really does the trick. It is antibactrial and a small squirt of the gel from the pump dispenser on the bottle comfortably covers both hands thoroughly. You have just enough time to rub the gel ... Read the complete review

When you work with young children on a regular basis you tend to find your hands covered in all sorts of mess and often you don't even want to think about where their hands have been before they enter your hands. This is the reason that I carry Carex antibacterial hand gel around with me all the time. The hand gel doesn't need water in order to ... Read the complete review

Having OCD, when it's not possible to wash my hands I like to have another option for sanitizing them, and in the current climate with all this swine flu business more and more people are turning to this option. There are larger sizes of this product available with a pump action dispenser but I find that this a much more convenient size ... Read the complete review

When you're out and about it's not always easy to keep your hands clean, less so if you've got kids. Hand dryers don't always dry your hands properly after you've washed them and that's all assuming there are public conveniences available to wash your hands in the first place. Being out & about and having eaten something like a bag ... Read the complete review

When my youngest son was born 6 weeks early, I new I had to be extra hygenic and make sure my hands were always clean when I handled him. It is very easy to do this while you're in hospital as you always have antibacterial gel at the bottom of the bed or a nurse to around to keep an eye while you wash your hands. So when I got home, I ... Read the complete review

When you have young children then there is need for a little bottle of this stuff when you are out and about. I have a thing about keeping my hands clean so if I do a quick nappy change on a park bench somewhere or Noah comes running up to me with what looks like bird poo on his finger, then this bottle comes out of the bag to kill any germs that ... After the outbreak of swine flu and all the adverts showing people sneezing then touching door handles and lift buttons, I think I got a bit paranoid and ended up buying some of this for me, my daughter and a big one for the house to try to minimise the risk of spreading any germs around. I was out one Sunday with my little girl and I needed to change her nappy but could not find any public toilets to enable me to do this so I had to change her in the back of my car. I had to use baby wipes to clean my hands which was not ideal as they left my hands wet and I had no way of drying them apart from my jumper. This made me ... Read the complete review

I have never been obsessive about clean hands. Yes of course I wash them often but I have never felt the need to use anything other than traditional soap and water for my hand care. With this lovely weather now upon us it is indeed festival season. While browsing through Tesco for a few last minute festival supplies, I spotted a bottle ... Read the complete review

I tried this gel and found not only does it taste revolting but it dries very quickly in my hands making me use more. I am an 82 year old pensioner afraid of contracting swine flu. I normally keep a bar of carbolic soap to hand but since my nephew gave me this i have used this only. Not good for gargling though as leaves a bitter aftertaste.

All the attention given to the media about MRSA, food hygiene, various superbugs & swine flu must have helped increase the profits of companies such as Carex & Dettol etc. Personally I think the ads on TV & the information in the booklet on swine flu say it all - we just need to cover our noses, dispose of tissues & keep ... This santising gel is fantastic to use when soap & water are just not available. It is in a handy 50ml plastic botle with protective lid where you just 'pump' out around a 10p size blob onto the palm of your hands & then rub them together. It is amazingly fast drying with no sticky residue meaning you can eat food straight away & it ... Read the complete review
