Advantages: Kills bacteria, dries quickly and smells refreshing .
Disadvantages: None for me.
- Price and Packaging -
The bottle is small enough to fit in to a large style handbag, obviously not a tiny evening bag! It is a transparent plastic bottle with lid. Once the lid is off there is a plunger style top from which the gel is dispensed.
- What does it promise? -
~ 100 applications per 50ml bottle.
~ Kills 99.99% of bacteria.
~ Clean hands, no water.
~ No mess, no fuss.
- Appearance, Smell & Texture -
This is a gel-like substance which when applied to your hands and gently rubbed in, has a lovely cool feel to it. It is easily rubbed in and absorbed instantly without leaving a sticky residue. As well as this it has a great fresh, clean smell to it.
When applied it has no obvious colour to it but in the bottle it has a very pale green tinge to it.
- Carex Hand Gels -
~ Aloe Vera
~ Sensitive
~ Moisture Plus
~ Splash
All of these 50ml bottles are currently £1.39 at Boots
- General -
As far as its cleaning properties are concerned, I can only hope that the claim of killing 99.99% of germs is correct - Unfortunately I don't have any way of checking the bacteria on my hands before and after using it.
It certainly is a no mess, no fuss formula when you are out and about. The bottle is small enough for a hand bag.
I am quite pinickety about using public toilets and touching handles and so on, so this little gel gives me a small amount of confidence about the cleanliness of my hands when I'm out and about.
N.B. There is a warning on the bottle to avoid contact with broken skin.

Summary: A great hand cleaner for when you are out and about.

- 26/06/09 I like the idea, but I think I would still feel dirty, without water. |
