Advantages: makes you look and feel good
Disadvantages: takes time
Cellulite is the result of different kinds of toxicity within the body. This of course, is a bold statement, because some authorities still claim that it doesn't even exist. However, it is very real. I look in the mirror after my bath and there is no doubt. It comes to us all in time! Cellulite can be a result of toxins produced because of an imbalance in the endocrine system (glands and hormones), the result of poor lymph drainage and circulation problems, or the outcome of a long period of imbalance in the body. The endocrine system balances up the hormones and the way our glands function. If this goes wrong toxins may accumulate in the body (in this instance cellulite is formed). The lymph system runs right through your body and it is a system that stops infection invading your body. The lymph glands literally 'catch' the toxins and stop them spreading through the body. If the toxins built up in these glands because they can't drain away you all kinds of problems, including cellulite. These unsightly fatty deposit (cellulite) are hard to get rid of. Getting the body back into balance and breaking these deposits down can take lots of work over a long period of time. There isn't a 'magic' cream, or potion, that will instantly get rid of them, despite what advertising material might tell you. So, how can you make a concerted attack on cellulite deposits? DIET: Make sure that you have a balanced, healthy diet which includes fresh fruit, juice, vegetables (especially purple ones like grapes and aubergines), to help rid your body of toxins. Decrease the amount of fat you take in but remember that your body does require fat so don't take this too far. Junk food like crisps and burgers are generally not a good idea if you are trying to reduce cellulite deposits as they tend to contain lots of fat and chemicals, including salts. Too much salt actu
ally depletes the store of useful minerals and vitamins in your body. For example, if you eat oranges your body takes in vitamin C but too much salt changes the body chemistry and you excrete the vitamins with the salt. You have, in fact, spoilt the nutritional value of the orange. (This applies to other vitamins and minerals too.) Cut out dairy produce, or switch to low fat products. You don't need all that fat if you want to reduce cellulite. Eat lots of rice, and pulses, and try to wean yourself off tea and coffee. Avitamin suplement might be useful to get your system into balance but don't use one derived from yeast. 1000mg of vitamin C per day and vitamin B complex and zinc will also help. SKIN BRUSHING: Use a natural bristle, or fairly soft brush and brush your skin daily before you take your shower, or bath. Brush towards the heart to stimulate circulation and lymph drainage. Your skin texture will improve too. EXERCISE: Do some exercise each day, even if its only walking. MASSAGE: Massage the areas of cellulite and around the lymph glands (under arm, around neck, in the groin area) with a special blend of essential oils. Massage in these areas should be in little circles. Try one of these blends of essential oils: Use 25mls of carrier oil (wheatgerm, jojoba, almond, sunflower) plus 1. fennel 4 drops, juniper 3 drops, rosemary 4 drops, lemon 3 drops. or 2. fennel 4 drops, grapefruit 5 drops, lemon 4 drops. BATHS: Use whichever blend of oils you like best in your bath and try a salt bath twice a week for about six weeks. Put one cup of Epsom salts (from a chemist) into the bottom of the bath, run the water and when the bath is full and the water turned off add: 1. rosemary 2 drops, grapefruit 3 drops, fennel 2 drops. o
r 2. lemon 2 drops, juniper 2 drops, rosemary 2 drops. I can't promise that you will be totally 'cellulite free' but this method of treatment and prevention will certainly help. You'll end up feeling good too!
