Some things I would pay more for because they are just naturally better products. But the prices of designer companies charge I just do not comprehend. Of course, they are slightly better quality, and have worked hard to gain their designer status, and so have the right to be slightly more expensive than your average product, but the fact that they charge several times over what they really ought be charging is just beyond ridiculous. Sometimes I like to buy designer brand perfumes because they actually do smell superior to others, but this is a BODY LOTION, and I think that Chanel has by far over priced it. Luckily for my purse, I myself did not BUY this body lotion, I was given it as a gift, but I believe that you can obtain it for just under £50? Now, think about what you could do with £50 instead of splashing out on a posh body lotion... Well, here are my views on this product:
I can't lie and say the lotion is horrible- it is rather nice actually, but nothing out of the ordinary. The lotion itself is not really like a lotion; more like the texture and thickness of milkshake or thin pouring yogurt; which I find is irritating as it makes it all the more easier to spill. The texture of the lotion also makes it slightly difficult to apply; it does not come slowly out of the bottle as an easy to handle lotion and you can't dip your finger into it like a body butter. Instead, when you try to tip a bit onto your hands, it takes quite a bit of effort to make sure that the whole lot does not come streaming out. It is reasonably easy to apply; it has an smooth, cool, silky feel as you rub it into your skin and is not very greasy. However, I find it more like a body milk, and I feel as if they should have stated something about it on the bottle.
The smell is not amazing, but it is not bad either. Whilst some may choose to call the scent exotic and sophisticated, I cannot help but find it a little old fashioned; like something my gran would wear. This is in no circumstance a BAD thing; however, I would prefer something lovely and fruity like the Body Shop's body lotions or body butters which only cost a fraction of this product's price. The smell does linger there for a few hours, but it is nothing out of the ordinary.
QUALITY AND PACKAGING:
The packaging and quality are the only aspects that actually meet the expectations of the price: but who pays that much for a posh bottle or a sophisticated looking card board box? The bottle is sleek, sophisticated and cubic, with gilt lettering, which makes it look posh. This all comes in a smart looking cardboard exterior with the same posh gilt letters. I cannot complain of the quality either; but then, there are so many other good quality skin care products out there available to you for a fraction of this product's price.
This is in no way a BAD product, but then for the price of it, it is not notoriously good either. i am not necessarily trying to ward you off this product, I am just saying that you can get better for much less money. But if you will insist on spending a fortune on a body lotion because it has a designer logo adorned on it, then I guess this body lotion is worth a try.
Chanel is a French fashion house. As well as offering a fashion range, Chanel offer skincare, make up and fragrance products.
Created by Jacques Polge, Coco Mademoiselle was released in 2001 to appeal to the younger Chanel fragrance fans. It is currently promoted by Keira Knightley and is more commonly referred to as Coco Chanels fragrance sister.. The range includes and EDP, EDT, body lotion, shower gel, soap, body cream, deodorant spray, hair mist, body oil and a moisture mist. This review discusses the Coco Mademoiselle Moisturising Body Lotion.
The body lotion can worn alone on the skin for a subtle Coco Mademoiselle scent or topped up with the matching products for a layered effect. The lotion itself is promoted as having a fine, fluid texture which once melted into the skin, will leave it soft and moisturised and of course scented.
Chanel pride themselves on creating unique yet simplistic packaging for their products and the bottle housing this lotion is no exception. A chunky, rectangular, hard plastic bottle is presented to us with a plain white and black colour scheme. A screw top lid conceals the dispensing hole and completes the look with a gold band around the neck.
This body lotion claims to offer a subtle scent than the Coco Mademoiselle perfume. It is described as being a modern, young version of Coco Chanel.
*Top notes - bergamot, orange, mandarin and Tunisian curacao
*Heart notes - Italian jasmine, morning rose, ylang ylang and mimosa
*Base notes - Haitan vetiver, Bourbon vanilla, white musk, tonka bean, Indonesian patchouli and opoponax
The body lotion is available in a 200ml size. Current stockists and prices :
*www.amazon.co.uk - £48.55
*Boots - £36.00
*Debenhams - £36.00
I love expensive body lotions but rarely buy them for myself (not until I'm rich that is). I do have generous family though and know people in the industry who get goodies at rock bottom prices! I received my bottle of Coco Mademoiselle from a close friend as a birthday treat around 18months ago and I am still using it. Due to the actual cost of this lotion, I use it sparingly and do not class it as an every day lotion.
Chanel bottles may be understated but they are classy, of a high quality and look amazing on any dresser. I had previously sampled the EDP in Boots prior tor eceiving this lotion and it is still on my wish list! I previously reviewed Coco Chanel and commented it wasn't really my sort of scent. I do feel Chanel have captured a modern, youthful version of the classic in Coco Mademoiselle and I love it!
*~*Mademoiselle..You Smell Gorgeous!*~*
Disepensing the lotion isn't very easy as the bottle doesn't offer much in the way of flexibility. I find tubes less attractive but more convenient for this purpose. The lotion is a shiny white colour and dispenses quite thickly but not as rich as a cream or butter would be. The lotion starts to melt and absorb into my skin instantly which does make spreading it a little harder to do! If I spread it quickly, it feels thick and luxurious against my dry, sensitive skin and offers a gentle, cooling sensation as it absorbs.
Once absorbed, the lotion leaves absolutely no greasy residue on the surface of my skin. It does give my skin a soft, powdery texture which feels really light and pleasant. In terms of moisturisation, the quality of this lotion shines through. My skin feels hydrated throughout the day, refreshed and healthy. The lotion works particularly well on dry areas such as elbows and knees but no moreso than a regular body lotion product.
The smell..oh my the smell. I am 23 and this scent fully appeals to me. It is feminine yet youthful. Sophisticated and elegant with a hint of fun about it. The lotion smells identical to that of the perfume in my opinion but of course comes through with a delicate, pretty nature. On applying, the scent is very chic and fresh. It is uplifting and ultimate playful due to the sweet, fruity notes used. The orange, mandarin and curacao mingle creating a welcoming, fruity environment with a bitter undertone.
Shortly after application, the fruitiness subsides slightly and gives way ever so slightly allowing a delicate bloom of floral notes to present themselves. The scent remains light on my skin but noticeable to those around me. The floral combination used is very fresh and never cloying. In most perfumes, four floral notes could be a bit much but they mix well here with the rose and jasmine being most prominent. I feel the scent keeps its youthful edge by grasping on to the sweet top notes and slipping them in at random intervals as undertones.
Whilst the scent never fully reaches out from my skin, it is at the perfect level for me to become engrossed and appreciate it. As the floral notes start to disappear, a close to the skin base becomes apparent. It is stunning and has a light powdery feel to it. I can pick up on a rich vanilla with a cosy surround and a hint of musk but all the base notes simply slide together to create a heavenly sweet end of a beautiful lotion. After around 8hours on my skin, I cannot detect the scent of Coco Mademoiselle.
Coco Mademoiselle body lotion offers enough strength to be worn throughout the day and is perfect if you work in an office or around others as it isn't too strong. I would say it could pass for an evening scent due to its classy edge but I would recommend topping it up with a spritz of the EDP for long lasting fragrance. Chanel have aimed this well at the younger market but if you aren't a fan of Coco Chanel (at any age) then this would be an ideal alternative.
I love everything about this body lotion. It feels amazing on my skin and produces the most gorgeous scent. The fragrance could be a little more concentrated but Chanel have put together a fantastic lotion which I simply adore. £36.00 is a high price tag but my 200ml bottle is still going strong. I personally like to apply mine if I am going somewhere different (other than Tesco, the dentist or the nursery!) during the day and I really do hope I get a bottle of the perfume to use with it soon as it is a match made in Chanel heaven!

Review of Coco Mademoiselle Body Lotion
This is a body lotion made by Chanel of Paris. I received a sample size of the product in the 'goody bag' presented at a beauty event sponsored by a department store, that my daughter and I attended recently. We were delighted to each receive a selection of sample sizes of a wide variety of top end of the market products. Coco Mademoiselle body lotion was one of the freebies.
Coco Mademoiselle was launched by the world famous design house of Chanel in 2001. It is classified as a floral fragrance, with top notes of jasmine, bergamot and orange. The woody lower notes are of vanilla and musk. The fragrance is fresh, feminine and very modern. The manufacturer describes Coco Mademoiselle as a daytime fragrance, but personally, I consider it to be a good all round scent, suitable for any occasion.
The body lotion is a light gel type body lotion. It contains moisturising and moisture retentive properties to leave the skin soft and perfectly moisturised with a subtle iridescent sheen. The lotion is highly fragranced with the long lasting Coco Mademoiselle perfume.
The body lotion is easy to use, light and very quickly absorbed into the skin. The body lotion does not feel sticky or greasy. It softens and moisturises as one would expect, but unlike other perfumed body lotions I have used, the fragrance really does last, making it an ideal product for layering with the matching Eau de Parfum or Eau de Toilette. I received a small 6ml sample presented in a plastic tube, which contained ample lotion for several applications. A very generous free sample!
The full sized product is available in a 200ml bottle, my local department store stocks this at £29.99, however a quick web search found the product on www.amazon.co.uk for £25.00, inc. postage, so it pays to shop around.
The packaging of the full sized product is simple and elegant. A tall rectangular box, pearlised cream in colour, with a gold lid and the Chanel logo. The product information is printed in black. The actual body lotion is presented in a tall rectangular, white plastic bottle decorated with a gold coloured band. Both the box and the bottle are stylish and understated.

Gabrielle Bonheur Chanel, known as Coco, was born in Saumur, France in 1883.
The name Chanel is known all over the world as a leader in the fragrance market, Chanel no5, created in 1921, by Ernest Beaux, at the request of Chanel. Chanel no 5 is one of the most famous fragrances of all time. Apart from fragrance, Coco Chanel is remembered as one of the greatest fashion designers of the 20th century, her fashions were innovative and new to a generation of women who had previously been clothed in the restrictive apparel of the late 19th century. Chanel's modern and fresh approach to female fashion were welcomed by women world wide.
Coco Chanel died in Paris in 1971 at the age of 87.
Coco Mademoiselle Body Lotion is widely available from department stores and numerous on line retailers. As previously stated www.amazon.co.uk are currently selling the product at £25.00.
The range and further information can be found on Chanel's website:-
It must be remembered that fragrances and fragranced products will react differently to different skin types, so what suits one person, may not suit another. A fragrance can smell quite different on another person. It is always best to try before you buy. The store where I obtained my body lotion (Debenhams) are usually very good at handing out free samples, so it is worth approaching the assistant on the Chanel counter and asking for a trial size before you commit to the purchase.
This is a lovely top end of the market body lotion, which I can heartily recommend to others. I love it and although I probably wouldn't buy it for myself, it is definitely on my birthday and Christmas list, should any of my family be reading this!!!
Thank you for reading.

I very rarely spend a lot of money on expensive products, but the scent of Coco Mademoiselle is just delightful. I received this as a Christmas present. I believe it is around £32 per bottle for 200ml.
It comes in a really nice, classy white bottle with black writing and a gold rim around the screw top. It has a small hole in the top of the bottle, similar to tomato ketchup bottle, so that the lotion doesn't all come out in one go, which is very useful.
The lotion itself is more milky than buttery, certainly a thinner lotion, which is not at all greasy and rubs into the skin very well without leaving a residue unlike some other body lotions.
The scent is identical to that of the perfume, which I always thing smells sweet but musky with a chocolatey aroma to it. The undertones of the scent are extremely nice, and long lasting, but the scent is not overpowering in anyway. People do seem to notice the smell though and often ask me if I am wearing Coco Mademoiselle.
The size of the bottle is good, although it is Chanel, it is extremely expensive for what it actually is, but delivers everything you would expect from it i.e. rubs in well and smells nice...but to be fair how many other lotions could do that at a much cheaper cost?....
Buying products of a high quality, I suppose is something I do a lot. I dont always spend absurd amounts of money on beauty products but I do like them. I have always loved the Chanel Coco Mademoiselle perfume but didnt buy it. However, I got a sample for the body lotion when in a department store one day. It was what made me notice this particular product and I liked the results so I bought it.
It is very simple in terms of package design but in a classy way. It comes in a tall rectangular box and this is a pearlescent cream colour. The lid is gold and has the Chanel logo on the top of it. On the side is information on the product written in black text so everything can be easily read. It may be boring to some but I think it looks nicer than some over-decorated boxes. The lettering on the front is also 3-D so that it looks even better.
The actual bottle is quite nice too again tall and rectangular. The bottle is made of a thick white plastic so you can barely just see the level of body lotion that has been used. It has a white pearlescent lid and a gold band around it. On the back it has body lotion written in every language and that is all it really has. Taking the lid off the top is just a tiny circle cut out so that the body lotion can squeeze through.
The smell is my favourite part of the product. It smells very sweet but floral in a way. It is quite a light scent though it isnt overpowering in any way. It smells exactly like the original perfume but with a more cream like smell.
The smell of Coco Mademoiselle I have seen described as a fresh oriental fragrance with a hint of bergamot and orange and a little rose and jasmine. When seeing those scent details I can definitely smell them but Im not good at explaining scents otherwise. The Coco Mademoiselle scent was created in 2001. It also has a woody base and vanilla and white musk are added subtly.
So applying the body lotion, well I usually squeeze it out it doesnt need to be squeezed too tight as the right amount comes out ok. It is quite a thin consistency. When it is on the skin it is easily rubbed in unlike some I have used which you seem to rub in forever until they absorb. It is also, quite quick to absorb, it doesnt stay wet forever it dries in quick and still has instant results.
I feel as soon as I rub the body lotion in the skin instantly looks healthier and it gives a healthy glow and radiates it almost. My skin always feels really soft after applying this which I love and also the smell still stays so you smell great as well as having amazing looking skin. It isnt at all a sticky body lotion either which I find really good because there is nothing worse than when you have sticky hands from a body lotion.
This body lotion isnt the easiest to get hold of. Most Chanel counters in the department stores will sell it. If you ask they will give you it anyway. Online stores are not really the easiest to buy this on. I know I always refer to this website but http://www.strawberrynet.com are the only ones I have seen it on. The thing is though they sell it more expensive than in stores which is surprising.
I bought it in my department store for £25 which I considered the best price, the website sells it for £26. I have had the body lotion for a while, depending on how often you use it I would say it does last for a good amount of time. The bottle it comes in is a 200ml which is the only size I think that it comes in.
I dont really have a lot of negative points for the perfume other than the price. If you are someone who uses it a lot it will cost a lot replacing it but it is worth it. I have not found that I have had any bad reactions to it; it does not irritate my skin. On the side of the box all of the ingredients are listed so its best to check that to see if anything is listed there that you might react badly to.
I would definitely recommend the perfume to those who love Chanel products, Coco Mademoiselle in particular if you want the set. Also, anyone who is looking for a quick and effective body lotion and who is not upset about spending a lot.
If you are still unsure next time at the counter ask for a sample they might have one. I find applying this a couple of times a week keeps my skin in great condition but everyone is different.
