~Chloe Signature Body Lotion~
This body lotion is perfumed with the Chloe signature fragrance which includes notes of rose, peony and amber. It is suitable for all skin types and promises to leave your skin feeling soft and nourished. There is a matching shower gel and eau de parfum available to allow the Chloe scent to be layered on the skin.
Whilst I find the actual perfume bottle to be quite attractive, I am not so keen on the body lotion bottle. The bottle is made from plastic which is clear and is complete with a large, silver lid. The lotion is a peachy colour. The bottle is indented and to me, looks like a bar of soap or a soap holder of some kind as it is a rectangular shape. I find the packaging to be cheap looking and feeling. This lotion has a 24month shelf life.
~Price and Availability~
Chloe Body Lotion is available from House of Fraser (instore and online) priced at £26.00 for a 200ml bottle. Other stockists include www.escentual.com (£22.10) and www.fragrancedirect.co.uk (£22.50).
As my love of designed body lotions grows, so does my collection! Today, I would like to introduce you to my Chloe Signature Body Lotion. Whilst I'm not crazy for the design of the bottle, I do enjoy using this body lotion as it smells very 'expensive' and luxurious. I wear body lotion on a daily basis but vary between lightly scented lotions and perfumed lotions. I would say that this body lotion is best teamed with the matching perfume as another perfume may not mix well with it.
The lotion itself has an easy to handle consistency. It flows from the bottle with very little persuasion. The peachy coloured lotion is fairly thick and extremely cool to the touch. I apply it over my arms and chest area and find that it spreads like a dream and initially leaves a sheen on the surface of my skin. Applying this body lotion proves to be a pleasant experience as my skin feels very pampered and instantly hydrated. This body lotion takes a short while to soak in and I do find myself having to massage it in a little more than my other body lotions. Once absorbed, my skin is left free from shine and with no noticeable residue.
My skin benefits from this body lotion. I have dry skin which is rough and bumpy. I only need to slick a small blob of this body lotion over my skin to moisturise and soften it. My skin is left silky smooth to the touch and my sensitive skin hasn't become irritated from using this body lotion. The effects of this body lotion are long lasting as my skin still remains moisturised 12 hours after application and I am satisfied with this.
The main aspect of a perfumed body lotion is the scent. This body lotion is complimenting to the EDP. The body lotion itself is highly perfumed and may be a little strong for some wearers. I quite like it but favour wearing it alone on my skin for a short while and then topping it up with the fragrance.. It is strong enough for me to feel confident and scented. The scent is beautiful. It is definitely a feminine fragrance - a statement fragrance which leaves my skin smelling gorgeous.
My nose can pick up on the the rose at first - a crisp, clean, mild sweet rose which smells very classy and sophisticated. The peony doesn't really develop as well as one would expect. After a short while, the crispness from the rose evaporates and it becomes more powdery and soft. I can detect the amber which adds a beautiful warming touch to the rose and this blend is comforting and favourable. The overall scent is quite strong and can be overpowering when the weather is warmer.
All in all, this body lotion is of a high quality. It leaves my skin feeling lovely and the scent is unique and elegant. I find that the scent develops well over the course of 6 or 7 hours and is quite strong for the entire time. I can't say that I would wear this everyday to be honest. I do need to be in the mood to wear this body lotion as at times, the scent can be a little heavy for me. I do find it to be a special smelling body lotion and whilst I do love the way it smells, I can't handle it on a daily basis. It is nice to wear as a stand alone product for a special occasion. It smells expensive and it is expensive.
I would recommend buying a gift set which includes the perfume and the smaller sized body lotion. I wouldn't be able to use a 200ml bottle in a 24month time range so a 100ml, gift size bottle is more suited to my needs.
Recommended - thanks for reading :)
Chloe's signature scent, Chloe was released in 2008. I have the perfume and absolutely love it. I received the perfume as a gift and as it was at Christmas time I got it in a set which also included a bottle of the Chloe lotion as well.
The Chloe scent is described as a Floral Oriental perfume. It contains top notes of peony, lychee and freesia, heart notes of rose, magnolia and muguet and base notes of amber and cedar. The lotion smells exactly like the perfume which is nice. If I intend to wear the perfume that day I always put the lotion on when I get out of the shower so I can layer the smell and have it all day long. So what does this actually smell like? Well, it is definitely a very floral smell. It is quite a strong smelling lotion, quite heavy and I would say that the floral smell is very bold. It is not light and fresh like some floral smell. Saying that though, it is a very nice smell and definitely memorable. I would describe it as quite sweet too and long lasting.
The lotion has a peach tinged colour to it. It's quite a thick lotion too but goes on very nicely and rubs in and absorbs in well. In fact Chloe call it rich and I definitely agree with that. They say it moisturises and leaves the skin perfectly scented. This is definitely true and I do think they have created a really nice product. They say the lotion has an innate sense of chic. I definitely think this is a very upmarket lotion and perfume as is their fashion house and it does make me feel quite chic wearing it.
The only thing that I didn't like about the body lotion was the bottle it came it. The bottle itself is plastic, not glass like the one the perfume comes in and in my opinion I think this cheapens it a bit. It almost feels like the quality is not as good in a plastic bottle. It's a shame because the design of it is a good one and is what I like about the perfume bottle. It has a ribbed pattern on it which I think gives it a classic look and then a stopper on the top. There is no ribbon either like the perfume which is a shame too. Apart from that I think it's a clean, simple and effective packaging.
The lotion, like the perfume is quite expensive. A 200ml bottle costs £25 which compared to other lotions is very expensive but for a treat it's not too bad. Also, if you can find it in a gift set it will also be cheaper.
All in all a great lotion that I definitely recommend
This amber floral by Michel Almairac and Amandine Marie at Robertet is meant to embody the classic modern scent. It features a bouquet of powdered florals composed of peony, lychee and freesia. Notes of rose, magnolia and lily of the valley make up the heart over an amber and cedar wood base.
