INTRODUCTION

On a recent visit to London I was a little bit glum and down in the dumps, so a trip to Harrods was a must to brighten me up. I was feeling very pasty and pale so my husband recommended this shopping trip to try to cheer me up.

As a massive Christian Dior fan, he dragged my to the make up counter in Harrods which was way above my expectations as he has always thought the make up is a waste of money and you can buy the same stuff cheaper elsewhere. Can't you tell he is male and does not appreciate top quality goods.

Anyway he said I could have whatever I wanted so I opted for a bottle of perfume, a mascara, blusher and lip gloss. Just as my husband was paying for the items I found this Dior face tanner, which was something I really wanted to try as I was looking really pale and pasty, so this went into the bag to.

THE PRODUCT

When I got back to the hotel room the first thing to try was my new face tanning cream, as we were heading out to a show that night and I wanted to look a little bit sun kissed for the occasion.

This Sunless facial tanner is produced by the high end fashion designer Christian Dior so therefore the name reflects the high price, but if you can get past the price you will see what a good quality product this really is.

This is a gel cream self tanning product especially designed for your face, this cream itself is a pale beige in colour and is rather thick so only a small amount is needed to achieve brilliant natural looking results.

You get a radiant sun kissed look within one hour of applying the cream, after this first hour you will see how dark of light the tanning cream has worked. For example if you use a small amount you will have a lighter result and if you apply a lot of cream you will get a much darker result so at first this is trial and error, but I strongly advise you start with a small amount and re-apply if needed as this can go very dark.

As this contains a build up formula you can always add more cream on top of a previous application to intensify the colour. I tend to reapply this every three to four days as it can fade quickly but it does fade naturally so you don't go patchy.

APPLICATION

This is very quick and easy to apply, firstly you must exfoliate you face with a facial wash to remove any dead or dry skin as this can cause it to go patchy, so exfoliating is defiantly the answer, if you forget this step it can prove disastrous.

Once you have exfoliated and you face is completely dry you then add as small blob of cream to each cheek, nose, chin, upper lip and your forehead and slowly massage it into your face, to insure you don't get a tide line be sure to pull the cream down onto your neck, this will enable you to blend it in to your own skin tone perfectly.

Within a few minutes you skin will feel smooth and silky soft to touch, so you can carry on with your make up application if you want to at this point. As time goes on the cream penetrates deeper into the skin to product the darker sun kissed glow.

If after an hour you are not happy with the colour and you want it to go darker just re-apply the cream to your face and you will do darker.

Don't' forget to wash your hands straight after this has been applied as it will stain them, making it very hard to get off.

PRICE / AVAILABILITY

This Christian Dior sunless face tanner comes in a 50ml squeezable tube, with allows small beads of product out of the tube at a time, making the application process very easy indeed.

This is stored up on end so it ensures you get every last drop of cream out of the tube, so you will never get any wastage. I have been applying this for nearly two months now and I still have three quarters of the tube left, so I am sure it will last a long while.

I bought this is Harrods for £22.50 which I thought was very good considering I was shopping in Harrods, I only assumed it cost you a tenner just for a carrier bag.

To my surprise when I returned home I visited my local Debenhams and checked out the price at the Dior counter there and it was £22.00 there so this can be purchased for roughly the same price at any Dior make up concession counter.

MY OPINION

If like me you have had trouble in the past with self tanning products this is the one for you, it is so easy to apply and it goes on perfectly without leaving you patchy and orange looking.

This blended perfectly with my skin and did not clog up in areas such as my under eyes and eyebrows, which is brilliant as this is when I always notice people are wearing fake tan. So this eliminates all of the fake tan tell tale signs.

This wears off gradually with the aid of regular washing and showering, I find to have a permanent glow I need to apply this every three to four days to keep my sun kissed glow looking perfect.

It is very natural looking and people never notice I am wearing a fake tan, so this gets all five stars from me.
