Clinique Deep Comfort Body Moisture
Advantages: Feels great.
Disadvantages: Slightly clinical smell.
The very word Clinique puts an image in my head, a image of freshly washed skin on a stunning model, smiling at you as she tilts her flawless face. Oh I want that look!
Cliniques main selling point is that they are 100% allergy tested and fragrance free, so if you like scented creams then this is not the shop for you, but they do have a long history of selling award winning products, albeit expensive ones.
Fragrances in skin products can irritate he skin, and many times I have had to give up a gorgeous smelling body wash or cream when it caused my skin to itch or break out into a rash.
I am however one of those people you do not want to go out shopping with, if rushed I will buy whatever I need that is in my path just to not get stressed over choices, usually regretting it. But when I have time I pour over ever ingredient, and have to compare it with everything else on the market.
So I was never a welcomed customer at shops, and therefore don't buy to many beauty products.
But for some reason I still have a way of collecting them and just a few days ago this cream came in the post courtesy of a friend who bought it but decided it didn't suit her for whatever reason, and sent it off to me.
Opening a package from the mail is always a great excitement so it definably made the experience very pleasant. I opened the brown paper to reveal a clear plastic bag, with this cream lying inside. It is in a clear triangular tube, which stands on its cap, which is the basic flip type. There is some red lettering on the front and back and the Clinique logo displayed on the front, like most of their products.
I opened the tube and at first was at a loss as to how to describe the smell, before I realized it was because there was none! Well not quite there is a smell, but it is hard to describe, it almost smells like thick cream or freshly made butter. The cream itself is a beige color.
Using this cream was like a pampering experience, I have other creams like Biotherms "Anti-Drying Body-milk" which I like and smell fantastic, but this was different. It was like eating Greek yogurt versus ice-cream. The ice-cream tastes divine, but you know it isn't that good for you. Whereas yogurt tastes good as well, but in a wholesome satisfying way, and therefore just feels better. This is the only comparison I can think of, as I love yogurt and ice-cream similarly.
After absorbing the cream my skin feels incredibly soft and smooth, and has a very faint smell, of ok don't laugh, latex rubber gloves! Ha! It's the only word that I can use to describe it, I think it must be the powder they put on the gloves that reminds me of this smell, it isn't unpleasant, and it does still have a slight cream smell, but not as strong as when in the tube.
This cream feels good, and is perfect for using before bed, when your skin needs to rejuvenate itself. I prefer my other creams with smell for when I am going out or fancy some romance, as they give your skin such a delectable scent. But this is great as a deep moisturizer.
Summary: A nice pampering experience, perfect for those with sensitive skin.
