Don't you just hate it when you get breakouts on your back or moisturising your feet at night only to have them harsh and dry the very next morning? Rough patches appearing on knees and elbows are horrible too. You can wash with all the moisturising bodywashes in the world and it can seem like you are plugging a hole with your finger and the its leaking slowly around it. You rub all sorts of lotions in, and its like pouring water into the sands of the Gobi Desert in places. That is because even though you are washing and scrubbing and moisturising, dead skin cells are breaking down and blocking your pores or are simply to dry too stay moist with what you can get your skin to drink in. Enter Clinique Body Sloughing (Exfoliating) Cream. You dampen your skin, and take a small amount of this granulated cream containing menthol and salicylic acid. The salicylic acid not helps break down the dirt and disslove dead skin particles, the menthol refreshes your skin, and the granules help you polish all the dead sorry mess off your skin. It is not overly harsh at all and afterwards you feel superbly refreshed. After using it, you wash as usual and apply whatever moisturisers you nomally do. I found that after a few weeks of using this product, the bottoms of my feet were baby soft and so was the rest of me. I used this and my regular brand of moisturising body wash and no other moisturisers except what I use on my eyes and face :) This seemed to prove to me that it is really as good as they claim for clearing away dead skin and preparing your skin to accept moisturisers better. It is not often that a product actually lives up to its claim so I was dead impressed, but then nothing I have tried in the Clinique body and skin products range has disappointed me so far. A 250 ml jar lasted me about 2 months, using it once a day every day and cost about £16.50. While not the cheapest item on the market, it has been the best, and is really great fo
r pampering yourself. You could probably get away with using it only every other day and still get great results, but I have not tried that yet, but it seems reasonable as heaps of dead skin are not going to magically appear overnight. That would make it much more economical to use. It says to use it in the shower, but if you use a shower head attachemnt it works in the bath, just wet yourself in the bath first, then stand up and use as directed, and rinse. Just be aware that the granules do not dissolve in the bath water too well though and you can end up sitting on hard grains :( An excellent product for those suffering from dry skin bits or those who just adore a great pamper. And who doesn't love a good pampering? MMMMMMMMM............
Confessions of an ex-churner time: Ok, when I first joined dooyoo I was a hapless newbie. With no mentor to advise me I stumbled right into the trap of writing six crap opinions in one evening, thinking I would earn lots of miles. DUH! Well, I've come a long way, baby! These days my ops get VU's as a matter of course, and I even got a crown - yippee! Also, I am doing loads of reading and rating the ops of others - a very rewarding way to spend a slack afternoon! Right. So one of my old opinions was about Clinique Body Scrub, and I entitled my opinion, 'The Thighs of Britney'. The opinion was rubbish, but it still got good reads. And I KNOW WHY!!! So for all of you out there who would LURRRVE to have the thighs of Britney (or just to have a chance to dream about them.... mmmmm!) here is my all-new, much better review: Have you tried any of the Clinique range? If you have, then you will probably have found at least a couple of products by now that you couldn't live without. If you haven't, you've probably at least drooled whilst walking past that gleaming counter in your local department store. Lush, modern, green and pink packaging. Groovy product names. Large, interesting bottles. Fresh smells. No additives or artificial fragrances. Free gifts galore. Yup, this range can truly claim to be 'aspirational'. They have recently brought out a body care line, including body lotions and shower gels. These are reasonably priced (well, a bit more reasonably than the rest of the range!) and of course utterly covetable. I love the 'wake up body wash' - it smells of spearmint (in a GOOD way!) and it has a thick, luxury consistency. But back to Britneys silky legs! If you have ever used a body scrub, then you will be familiar with that heavenly smooth feeling your thighs and hips can acheive - just by rubbing! Believe me, if you think your thighs are beyond he
lp - they aren't. You too can stimulate blood flow, increase circulation, and MOST IMPORTANTLY whisk away dead skin cells to reveal your REAL thighs. And guess what, they look (and feel) like a nubile teenagers. HURRAH! All it takes is some body scrub and a few minutes in the shower. Simply squirt some scrub into your hands, and then massage into any parts of your bod you'd like to smooth and tone. Easy. A supermarket own brand will do the job admirably.... BUT. If you have had the chance to use Clinique's body scrub, you will never use anything else. It really is the Mercedes Benz of body treatments. Firstly, it comes in a big, satisfying aqua coloured tub. Now I'm not a shallow person, but I defy you not to display this baby with pride in your bathroom. Secondly, and more importantly, it is a truly wonderful product. The consistency is very fine - unlike some other, grittier scrubs. Don't let this delicate texture fool you - this stuff could strip the cellulite off a rhino. The smell is very strong - kind of minty and mentholy. (is mentholy a word?) It is a fresh green colour, and because of the tub format, you need to scoop it out with your fingers. HOW satisfying?? It feels a wee bit like using sand or salt to massage your legs with - but much softer and more pampering. The fine grains and wicked natural extracts will quickly get to work on your bumpy bits, a bit like sanding a shelf! The strong but fresh scent will jolt you wide awake, and get your blood going . Although this product is v. expensive - a little does go a very long way. Do a good, thorough massage with it and you'll see and feel spectacular results from the very first time you use it. Use a nice creamy body lotion to finish the job, and you'll give Ms Spears a run for her money. I only buy expensive beauty products when I feel the cost is justified and in this case I can hone
stly say it's worth every penny (especially if you wait until bonus time and get another product, to qualify for the free gift!) Britney isn't the only babe on the planet with desirable pins - we can all have silky bums and thighs with this fab product.
Clinique Exfoliating Body Cream This is not a cheap product but if you feel like treating yourself, it’s a great one to buy. It has a wonderfully uplifting minty smell & leaves your skin feeling smooth & soft. It’s particularly good to use on your back (with the someone’s help) & leaves you feeling very refreshed & clean. The cream lasts pretty well as it comes in quite a large tub and a little goes a long way – I’ve had my for ages & tend to use it when I’ve had a hard day & feeling hot & sticky.
