Advantages: Gentle flavour ,non-gritty ,good value and price. good brand, good results
Disadvantages: May not be powerful enough for some .
For those of you who have been reading my reviews you may remember that I am not a smoker but Hubby is . Recently he has been trying a fair few different toothpastes in an attempt to find one which surpasses the Eucryl he has used for years . This is rather a harsh powder and seems to be past it's sell by date , as far as Hubby goes. If I see any bargains I buy them and I also give them a try . This enables me to review the product from simply a teeth stain removing and general results aspect , and I sound Hubby out for the smokers perspective .
Having a mystery shop at last week which involved buying some items from a chemist I purchased Clinomyn Smokers toothpaste at a price of £1.75 for a 75 ml traditional boxed tube . Not especially cheap but as it was on the half price shelf I purchased it for 87p which seemed very good value .
So what about the reults and the product . The box and tube are pretty bog standard . They are in a white , blue and green colour .The list of ingredients looks pretty much like those of other toothpastes .
The box claims :-
^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^
Contains Flouride.
Freshens breath .
For everday use .
Approved by dentists.
Clinomyn contains Polygam for deep down cleaning .
Has a powerful ice mint flavour .
Removes tobacco and nicotine stains to bring back their natural colour .
Helps prevent stains returning .
Made by DeWitt .
On opening the tube the toothpaste looks a thick , white , consistency . It smells fairly minty but not too strong for me . It resembles the smell of extra strong mints .
The toothpaste has a chalky look and texture when using . It is not gritty at all . The Clinomyn remains white when using unlike some toothpastes . My teeth after using this toothpaste certainly pass the tongue test . They feel really clean and smooth .
For me the minty flavour was a bit of a dissappointment as I like really strong mints . However it was sufficient but did not leave a lingering minty taste . Neither did it blow my socks off as some do .
The results are good . As a wine and tea drinker I do get stained teeth and this product works well . The smoker of the house has found the results good . However I am not sure the Clinomyn will do the trick entirely .
However as a bargain buy it is good value . It really cleans your teeth without feeling as if it is sandblasting them and causing damage . With regular use I feel it will remove many stains including tobacco . Of course the best way is to give up smoking as I did many years ago but that's up to the individual .
Even if you are not a smoker but you want a good all round toothpaste , which will get to work on bad breath issues , such as the after effects of garlic or daily food stains , this Clinomyn should fit the bill .
There is a range of Clinomyn toothpastes which include an advanced smokers toothpaste which presumably gives advance whitening and does not mean that it is for advanced smokers . There are also some toothpastes designed for people with sensitive teeth .
Conclusion
^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^
Overall this product was a very good buy at 87p . I think it still represents fairly good value at £1.75 , but I am sure you will find it cheaper in the supermarket . As toothpastes go it is noting to write home about , as they say . However it does the job and with repeated use I think will be a good smoker's toothpaste . If it is used on a regular basis it will definitely improve the appearance of a smoker's teeth .
Thanks for reading
