I am someone who takes quite a bit of pride in my appearance and if there's something I noticed about people right away it is their teeth. I have been searching for what seems like a lifetime for toothpaste that claims to whiten that actually works. I have tried so many but they all claim they work but in reality they actually don't. I was at my last hope when I noticed Colgate's Advanced Whitening toothpaste on offer and since I was low on supplies I thought I'd give this a go because when offer what is there to lose.

The company, Colgate is part of the Palmolive group and is an American company. In 1806 William Colgate set up a factory in New York specialising in soap, starch and candle making and from there on the rest is history as the company expanded which in present day reaches over 200 countries. They sell numerous products but are obviously well known for their toothpaste ranges.

The packaging of the Advanced Whitening is quite eye catching, it comes in a rectangular box which is metallic. Inside is the tube which is a silver colour with the big red Colgate logo on the side. It has the words Advanced White to the right of it and claims it helps in stain prevention and is gentle on enamel. It is also clinically proven to give whiter teeth, this contains sodium fluoride. All ingredients are listed on the side of the box which I have thrown out since.

The toothpaste has a typical minty smell which they all have and what I like about it is that it isn't gooey because a lot tend to be. It is a thick paste which when run under water does foam up in the mouth to really clean. I applied the paste to my toothbrush and began brushing away to really clean my teeth and give it a good go to have no excuses if the product failed. After brushing my teeth I gave my mouth a rinse out and then cleaned my brush and went to the mirror to see if this toothpaste had effectively worked or not.

After looking at my teeth, I definitely noticed a change in colour. I was obviously really pleased and they were a lot brighter in colour. I was obviously expecting no miracles as it was after one brush and no toothpaste is that good unless it is doing something damaging to your teeth. So I decided to carefully monitor the progress of using this toothpaste after weeks of usage to give a real test and chance to the product to see if it was doing any difference.

After using this toothpaste for a month, I can safely comment now that this toothpaste definitely works. It will not make your teeth celebrity white, if you want that you will need to see a specialist for actual whitening but for a supermarket toothpaste I am pleased. It has brought my teeth a few shades lighter than before so that they do look a lot whiter and I have had my friends saying that my teeth are looking a lot white which has boosted my confidence and made me want to smile a lot more.

If, like me you have been searching for what seems like forever for a whitening toothpaste which works then this is definitely worth giving a try. It is sold at all supermarkets and it sells at the price of £2.25 for a 100ml tube which isn't really too bad. It has lasted me quite a while as well based on the average brushing twice a day. There is a lot of competition on the toothpaste market for whitening toothpastes but after my experience this has got to be one of my favourite so far and I will definitely be buying it again.
