Advantages: Tastes pleasant
Disadvantages: N/A
After brushing, I normally use a mouthwash to complete my oral health routine. I used to buy the cool looking 'Dentyl pH' brand (which you shake to mix yourself), before realising it was a bit too pricey, and the fact that you're basically paying for a gimmick.
My latest mouthwash purchase was 'Colgate Plax', an alcohol free concoction which claims to offer "12 hour protection against bacteria and plaque". Housed in a transparent blue bottle, you can currently purchase the 500ml size container for £2.63 from Tesco where it's also in a '2for1' offer.
I actually couldn't work out why the text on the front of the bottle claims that the product was 'bum free' (that's the least I expect from my mouthwash!) - but then I realised that it actually says "burn free" in a typeface where the 'r' appears to be joined up to the 'n' - doh! As well as fighting bacteria, the mouthwash claims to strengthen gums and protect against gum problems, and also clean in hard to reach places.
Aroma & Taste

Upon unscrewing the cap, Plax releases a minty yet gentle aroma which is pleasant and rather clinical. The taste is mild, but it feels refreshing and like it is doing a good job of killing bacteria (although what 'killing bacteria' feels like is anybody's guess). As the bottle says, there is indeed no bum... I mean 'burn', and it always leaves my mouth with a pleasant taste.

All in all then, I can't fault Plax as a mouthwash, as it fulfills all my dental requirements, and tastes good at the same time. To be honest, I find that many mouthwashes are somewhat overpriced nowadays, and whilst it's not cheap, Plax is less expensive than many others - highly recommended.
Summary: Good mouthwaste
