Advantages: Prevents teeth from staining

Disadvantages: None really

Go into your local supermarket or drug store and you are sure to find a myriad of different toothpastes. There is so much choice that it makes you wonder how they can all differ so much! Anyway, I have never been a stalwart to one particular brand and so like to try different ones.

Up to recently, I had been using Colgate Total and was as pleased with that as you can be with a toothpaste. But that was until I spotted Colgate Advanced Whitening toothpaste in my local drug store. It was being sold at the bargain price of 99p, so I thought it was well worth trying to see how it fared.

Colgate Advanced Whitening is a fluoride toothpaste which not only fights cavities and plaque like existing toothpastes, but also claims to prevent stains and helps your teeth stay white for longer. Initially, I thought this was just a novel ploy to get you to buy it, but having used it now for a good few weeks, I can honestly say that I have noticed an improvement in my teeth.

The Advanced Whitening formula contains microcrystals that get between the teeth, dissolve stains and prevent new stains from adhering. This ensures your teeth remain white and fresher for longer.

The toothpaste is white...surprise, surprise! It has quite a strong taste but is pleasantly minty. After brushing, teeth are left feeling exceptionally smooth and shiny. I have tried many other toothpastes, but have never found one that leaves teeth feeling so clean and fresh.

It is advised that children 6 years and under should be supervised by adults when brushing their teeth and only use a pea sized amount of the paste. It should not be swallowed and it is important to rinse thoroughly after brushing.

The toothpaste comes in a squeezy silver and red tube. The outer packaging takes the form of a cardboard box which is quite dis
tinctive. The Colgate logo appears in a red strip across the front, and this is set against a shiny silver background which contains lots of little stars which sparkle in the light. This is a nice effect.

Overall, I am very impressed by this toothpaste and will definitely buy it again. It freshens breath, cleans teeth and leaves them feeling white and shiny, thanks to its stain preventing formula. Highly recommended!
