Advantages: Seems to work, pleasant taste
Disadvantages: Not really menthally enough
Colgate is one of the bigger tooth care companys out there and as a result you expect to be satisfied whenever using one of their numerous range of toothpastes, mouthwashes or flosses.
What apparently sets Colgate Total apart from any other toothpaste is that it is the only toothpaste clinically proven to protect both above and below the gumline. Its seems Total is so effective at kicking bacterias behinds that it limits the amount of them getting into the gums.
The tube that i use is 50ml, it is white with the familiar logo of a white 'colgate' on a red background. It claims to fight cavities, plaque and gum problems.
The paste itself is pure white and has a pleasant minty taste. However it doesnt give you that ultra cold feeling in your mouth when you inhale like being slapped round the face with a penguin would (eerm, hmm) i mean like some other toothpastes out there.
On the back of the pack there is a clock with a bit of spiel that is basically championing the 'long lasting' effect of this toothpaste. Im gonna have to trust them on that as its impossible to tell for yourself when a toothpaste is no longer protecting you (youd hope that all toothpastes at least keep you covered for a good 10-12 hours).
As far as toothpastes go Total is a competant example, it keeps my teeth happy but i would prefer more of a menthally blast that you can feel when you breath in, i'd certainly buy this product again.
Summary: Its a perfectly good toothpaste.
