Advantages: soften hands gets rid of cracks
Disadvantages: a filmy feel after use
I got given this as a gift from my husband last year when my son was young and I was getting cracked hands form all the hand washing I was doing. Having a new born makes you feel like your developing OCD or re-enacting lady Macbeth's hand washing scenes. With you hands forever in water. He picked a tube of this cream up from Crabtree and Evelyn in York. But this cream was to be the savior of my hands.
Packaging
**************
When you open up the cardboard box (recyclable) you are faced with an old fashioned looking metal tube. The tube is whit with the pale blue motif of Crabtree and Evelyn's La source products on it
On the back it tells you in both English and French "Specially formulated with natural Shea butter to soothe and help protect hands.
La Source Hand Therapy Cream Ingredients
**************************************
Shea Butter, Bisabolol, Algae Extract
Product information from Crabtree and Evelyn
*****************************************
"Formulated with marine and botanical extracts for multiple benefits, La Source products have a calming and uplifting fresh fragrance with a hint of peppermint and lavender. The shea butter and herb formula in this cream works to soothe, moisturise and condition dry or rough hands."
My Experience
*******************
I started mainly apply this cream on a night to my hands as I knew that it would be unlikely to be washed off within minutes with hand washing after a nappy change. On taking a blob from the tube it comes in a delightful bright white globule onto your hand. The smell is very fresh I personally don't get the peppermint notes the blurb refers too but I do get hints of freshly mowed grass. On rubbing this cream into your hands it sinks in and softens your skin nicely. But you are left with a filmy feel to your skin that last on my hand for about 10 minutes. From daily use with this product I did find the cracks started to disappear and my hands became soft again. But due to the filmy feel of this product I only used it on a night rather than during the day as I found the filminess made my hands feel slippery which isn't a good thing when you have a young baby.
Where from
****************
You can get this direct from Crabtree and Evelyn for £10 and for similar prices in department stores such as John Lewis
Would I recommend this
************************
I would recommend this product as a night treatment for your hands but if you are after a day time hand cream for general use after hand washing this isn't your product in my opinion
Summary: a good hand cream for night time use but not a daily cream to use after each hand wash
