I use body lotion regularly as my skin tends to get dry if I don't use it, so I always have a few on the go in the bathroom as I get fed up of the same fragrance so I like to change it I actually had this Crabtree and Evelyn Lily body lotion as part of a recent birthday gift which was lovely as I do love the lily fragrance. I have had a look online and the recommended retail price for this is £16 but you can get it for around the £10 mark if you shop around.
At this price it is not a cheap body lotion but I have used Crabtree and Evelyn products before and I know that they are lovely and rich and a little goes a long way, and I wasn't disappointed with this body lotion. The lotion is nice and creamy to the touch and it feels lovely as soon as you apply it. Although it is thick it does rub in well and doesn't leave any greasy residue or film on my skin. It has a light floral scent which stays on my skin for a while afterwards so it probably wouldn't be appealing to males unless they like this type of smell.
To use I will use the pump to apply a small amount onto my hand and then I usually start with my legs which need the most moisturising. I will then pump it again and apply it to my arms and wherever else I feel needs moisturising although one pump does go a long way. It contains shea butter, evening primrose, almond, and coconut oils and also extracts of lily of the valley, peony, white magnolia, and elderflower. Although it does contain a lot of ingredients it is still gentle on my skin as I use it on my legs straight after shaving them and it doesn't sting or irritate at all and just seems to sink deep into my pores.
I can say that I have really noticed a difference since using this Lily body lotion and although my dryness hasn't completely gone it is definitely much less noticeable and my legs feel much smoother and softer to the touch. I have only been using it for a few weeks so I am hoping that if I continue to use it daily then my skin will continue to improve and hopefully stay that way. At the full price of £16 it is not cheap and I am not sure that I would pay this much, but I would probably pay around £10 as you can really tell that it is a quality product and I find that I use a lot less than cheaper body lotions. Also I love the way it makes my skin feel while I am applying it and afterwards, and the lovely subtle floral fragrance.
This is not a range I had much experience with (other than some la source stuff that I sometimes find in fancy hotels) but at the beginning of this year I received quite a lot of toiletries when my friend moved away and could take them with her.
**The brand and range**
If you go on their website the brand offers quite a wide range of products bath and body, mens, perfumes ,food ..
The lily range itself has quite a few products that include a perfume, room spray, hand wash and soap..
The body lotion comes in 50ml(£5) which makes it good for travel and the size I have which is 245ml(£16)
This comes in a white tube with the brand name and a picture of a lily. I like how it comes with a dispenser pump so it makes it easy to get the product out.
This smells just like the rest of the range- obviously lily is in it plus dewy greens, woodland mosses, musk, and ylang ylang.
Since there is shea butter, evening primrose, almond and coconut oils in this it is very moisturising. I find with my dry skin that it is absorbed very easily.
I do find this quite a relaxing scent so prefer to apply this after a relaxing bath
The scent lingers quite nicely in conjunction with the shower gel. I do think it would leave a nice scent by itself. I don't think all the products used together makes it over powering.
I have to say if I buy again I would be more likely to try the body cream(2ooml costs £22) which is more expensive but would be better for my dry skin. This was an amazing freebie though and I can see why she raved about the brand. I also like how the product is free of parabens, phthaletes, propylene glycol, and mineral oil
