Advantages: Smells delicious, sweet and very feminine, extremely moisturising
Disadvantages: The smell doesn't linger nearly long enough, one bar only really does one bath
I have a love/hate relationship with the Creamy Candy bubble bar from Lush. I love it because it smells wonderfully sweet and candy-like, but then it annoys me because the aroma simply doesn't last very long and isn't half as strong as I'd like.
The bar is rather basic, a feminine pink bubble bar with a small candy flower stuck to the top. It's very pretty and one of those Lush products that you can smell through the paper packaging, it has such a delicious smell that even when I have a pile of Lush products to use I can pick out the Creamy Candy aroma in the midst of the mish mash of smells.
When I crumble the Creamy Candy bubble bar under the warm running water I find it produces lots and lots of luxurious bubbles, it's not one of those that I would try to get two baths out of though as I have found that using just half the bar doesn't give as many bubbles as I have come to expect from a Lush bubble bar. It's worth mentioning here that Creamy Candy doesn't make your bath water pink, even if it looks like it should. It clouds the water slightly in the same way that adding some bath oils do, this isn't actually very pleasant and I do think Lush could make this exceedingly pretty bubble bar make the water prettier than this!
The aroma is absolutely delicious. It has a wonderfully sweet vanilla scent, but the vanilla mingles with other sweet smells and they all blend so well that it's very hard to describe the end fragrance other than to say it smells like the baking aisle of a particularly good ethnic foods store. My daughter says it smells like a sweet shop, although I think it smells even more wonderful than that!
The aroma lingers beautifully in the steam in my bathroom while I'm having my bath, afterwards I can smell it around the bungalow although this doesn't last long and is completely unnoticeable after around an hour. It lasts longer on my skin thankfully providing I don't need to use any body lotion afterwards, often I can still smell it on my skin the following morning if I've had an evening bath which I think is very impressive for such a sweet and delicate fragrance.
When I add a Creamy Candy bubble bar to my bath the water become very silky and moisturising. The cocoa butter moisturises my skin beautifully without making the water feel greasy or oily in any way, it does soften the water nicely though and makes lying back in it feel very luxurious and pampering. It's also a good cleansing product and after I've had a bath my skin feels squeaky clean and extremely moisturised. As with all bubble bars I scoop the bubbles up and wash with them, this helps the aroma to set itself on my skin as well as gives me all the benefit of the cocoa butter which I'm sure must leach into the bubbles as it's these which smell the strongest of this particular ingredient.
After drying I'm always surprised at how smooth and moisturised my skin feels. Lush bubble bars in general are very nourishing and this is one of the best; I've only ever had to use a body lotion once after a Creamy Candy bubble bar and this was when I was having particular problems with my skin, and this in itself is a minor miracle as very few bath products moisturise my very dry skin enough for me to feel comfortable.
The Creamy Candy bubble bar is one of the cheapest bubble bars in Lush at £2.27, which probably reflects the fact that you have to use the whole bar in a bath. My love/hate relationship is actually more of a love one, it's just that sometimes the fact that I wish the delicious aroma would last longer in the air as some of the other more pungent bubble bars do.
Summary: One of my favourite Lush bubble bars, although I wish the smell was stronger!
