Advantages: Beautiful rich lather, cleans well, smells gorgeous, on special offer at the moment
Disadvantages: ---------
I am always looking out for new shower gel to try and in Sainsbury's I noticed Foamburst on offer at £1.50 so I decided to buy some and try it. Foamburst is made by Imperial Leather so I knew it would be a good quality product.
Foamburst claims it is the "Ultimate Shower Experience" so when I had my shower this morning I thought I would try it and see if it lived up to that rather extravagant claim. I chose the Radiance variety which comes in a pretty pale pink tin thinking that if I didn't like it then at least the colour would appeal to my grandaughters.
But I do like it, very much. It comes in a pressurised tin instead of a plastic bottle and this has an aerosol which is very easy to depress and dispense the gel in the quantity you need. The tin has a nice wavy design that makes it very easy to hold in the shower even when the tin is wet. I sprayed some onto my sponge and set about washing myself.
When the Foamburst first comes out of the tin it is a solidish lump of gel that is already starting to foam slightly, similar to when you use a shaving gel. When I washed my body I was amazed at how thick and luxurious the lather was from this small blob of shower gel and I was left with a thick rich layer of foam all over my body.
I felt squeaky clean after washing with Foamburst. The gel has a beautiful floral scent that becomes stronger as the lather develops and after I have rinsed it all off and dried myself I can still smell it quite strongly. My skin felt moisturised and very clean afterwards, I did not notice any itching at all which suggests this is a fairly gentle shower gel as I have excema and sometimes heavily scented products such as this will cause me to have a flare up.
The lather is very easy to rinse off in the shower and it sort of slides off my body to leave a small clump of bubbles in the plug hole. It did not leave any residue on my skin and was not at all sticky after rinsing. My skin felt very soft and smooth after I had used this shower gel just once so I think I will continue to use it for a while to see what difference it can make to the dry and slightly rough skin I have on my shoulders.
The tin says this is enough for 40+ washes and I can see how this could be true because you do not need very much gel to create a good enough lather to wash yourself with. If it is true then that makes Foamburst one of the most cost efficient way of showering as a single tin would last over a month!
Summary: A very luxurious foaming shower gel that you're sure to love
