Imperial Leather Foamburst shower gel - Moisture Delight.
The product is purple coloured shower gel which turns into a rich creamy lather when in contact with water. A small amount of this gel in the palm of your hand will instantly turn into enough creamy foam to cover your whole body and leaves your skin feeling clean and smooth.

The Can

The shower gel comes in a cylinder shaped canister, which is approximately 20cm high, and similar to those you can buy deodorant in. The can is pressurised and so contains a large amount of the gel which helps it to last you a long time combined with the fact that only a small amount of the gel is needed for each use. The canister is white with a purple plastic lid and purple swirls and bubbles on the front. When I first brought the shower gel I realised that there was a round clear plastic cap on the top of the can which stops the plunger accidentally being depressed and the gel causing a mess! I was also impressed by the fact that the plastic cap could be clicked back on, I threw mine away but I guess that if someone has young children this could be a good way of preventing a large foamy mess! There is a very small dispenser hole where the gel comes from when the plunger is depressed, this helps you to squirt the right amount of gel into your hand which is a pretty useful thing with a gel that creates such a large burst of foam! The can is 190g contains 200ml of the gel.

The front of the can states that the product results in 'noticeably softer, smoother skin'. It contains a unique moisturising complex which after just one use leaves your skin feeling soft and smooth.

Advantages

- Non rusting can. - this is particularly useful so that you don't get nasty stains on your bath etc.
- Small dispensing hole - as I mentioned above this is great as it allows you to dispense the desired amount of gel easily
- Pressurised can - this allows you to really get your moneys worth as the can seems to last for ages!
- Nice, long lasting smell - obviously some people will dislike the floral fragrance but personally I love it, it is not too strong but it is a clean long-lasting smell.
- Moisturising - most shower gels and products dry my skin out really badly but after using this shower gel I had no need to apply moisturiser.
- Can be used as a shaving gel as well - it isn't recommended nor discouraged but I use this as a shaving gel for legs and armpits as it smells great and works just as well as the shaving gels you can buy additionally.
- No sticky label - all of the information is printed directly onto the can so no soggy sticky labels to worry about!
- Great price - I think this product is very fairly priced at £2.99 for 200mls (Euro4.48)

Disadvantages

- One disadvantage that I noticed was that the can does not have any hook of method of hanging it in the shower. This is not a problem for me as all our bath and shower stuff sits on the window sill but I could imagine it being quite inconvenient for some people.
- Ingredients - although personally I do not really have an issue with this as, as far as im concerned it does what I brought it for, some people may be concerned that the ingredients are all chemicals and manufactured fragrances.
- Extremely flammable - again, this is not really a major disadvantage, just something to be wary of!

The can states that you should point it away from your eyes (duh!) and dispense a small amount of the gel into the palm of your hand and then spread over your body and rinse thoroughly.

A Bit Of Interesting History

This may not be of interest to some people but I am including it in this review as I always find it interesting to find out a little bit of the history behind a brand or product.

The Imperial Leather range is made by Cussons which was first set up in 1879 and has developed from there. What I didn't realise was that Cussons also includes the brands; Carex,, Original Source, Luksja, Premier and Joy. The Imperial leather range has been widely advertised and most recently the TV commercial featured the cute little rubber duck dancing in the shower! Another interesting fact which I have just found out is that Imperial Leather sponsors Ant and Dec's Saturday night takeaway.

My Overall Opinion

I absolutely love this product, it smells great but the fragrance isn't too overpowering, it does what it claims to do which can be rare in products these days! It works well with my skin and moisturises it so my skin doesn't feel dry or uncomfortable for the rest of the day. I think the product is fantastically price, especially as you get such a great deal of usage out of the one can. As a bit of a girly girl I love all things purple and pretty so this is a bit of an added bonus really! Although I managed to think of three disadvantages (as stated above) none of them affect me so this product is brilliant as far as I am concerned!!

Summary: great and longlasting showergel
