Advantages: A lovely scent.

Disadvantages: None!

I love taking showers, I have never been a bath type person. If I every have a bath I feel really tired and heavy and to be fair I don't have the time for that!

As my mum is aware of my love for showers she treated me to some really luxurious shower creams as part of my "crap bag" for Christmas. (For anyone who has never heard of a crap bag, it is a bag full of cheap little stocking fillers that my mum insists on doing for me and my siblings every year, I now don't have to buy any smelly stuff for about three months!)

The product I will now review is - "Imperial Leather foam burst, sunshine"

Even the packaging on this looks lovely. The gel comes in a stand up yellow can, with a stylishly curved yellow plastic lid.
The can contains all the relevant and usual information, this being the brand name, the product name, the contents and amounts and finally the "flavour!", there are a few different varieties but the sunshine one is by far my favourite as it contains mandarin, lemon balm and ylang ylang.

Before you can use it there is a little cap that is secured onto the top of the lid over the top of the dispensing button. This is to stop any accidentally being dispensed out or more likely to stop kids like my son from working their way along the shower gel aisle in Asda and finding a trail of gel behind them!

Once the cap has been removed you simply press the button down and the gel comes out in a thin ribbon which I find is best applied with a flannel. I usually use a body puff as these as you know help make more bubbles. As this product automatically turns into bubbles, with water being the active ingredient, I find that the puff doesn't help in any way, sometimes even damping down the lather effect.

When you squeezed the desired amount into flannel, hand...etc you will see the gel is a pale yellow colour, the thing you should be aware of is that as I mentioned earlier water is the active ingredient. If water is added and you don't rub the gel into a lather it becomes quite slippery on the skin and will very easily wash away.

Once water and gel have been emulsified into a lather you will notice the delicious smell rising from it.
There is a definite smell of citrus to it, though I couldn't singularly identify lemon or mandarin. Again ylang ylang is not a scent I am familiar with so I couldn't really comment on it being there.

I am a terribly tight person when it comes to spending money on myself, as long as my kids are well cared for I don't worry about myself, this being the case I don't purchase any shaving gel, which I could probably do with, this is where this gel is invaluable.

The lather, when spread onto the skin, is thick and creamy and is perfect for shaving and washing alike. The lather leaves your skin smooth, clean, refreshed and very soft, it leaves you feeling like you have had a really nice and relaxing time in the shower, even if it was only a quickie.

This can states that there are over 40 uses in the can, this I can't really agree or disagree with as when one is opened the whole family wants to use it! All I know is even with all the other people stealing it, a can lasts around a week, not bad between a family of four.

There are few warnings on the back of the can also. It states that this foam is highly flammable so should not come into contact with naked flames, it also says it shouldn't be used as a bath foam, though on this point I don't really know why?

There is a free phone number to call if you have any questions (UK only), this is - 0800 581001

Alternatively visit www.imperialleather.co.uk

These usually retail around the £2.00 mark, but as always Asda have had a few offers on, making this £1.00 a can, exceptional value I feel.

There are around 15 different varieties of foam burst "flavours" I highly recommend you trying at least one. This makes a lovely and relaxing alternative to bathing!

Thanks for reading x

We always buy cheap stocking fillers too, but I love the idea of the 'crap bag', Susan

Most people call the 'crap bag' a Christmas stocking! Your description made me laugh!

I agree with you about baths. Showers are much more refreshing. Nicely reviewed.
