Advantages: Good price, smells nice

Disadvantages: None for me

In Boots last week I had completed my shopping and was waiting in the queue to pay for my purchases and noticed a display of Imperial Leather Shower gels costing just 84p each so I decided to treat myself.

I chose Imperial Leather Japanese Spa Limited Edition Lightly Moisturising Shower Cream with green tea, rice milk and jasmine. I flipped the top open and took a sniff before I chose it and it smelled nice so I thought it was worth a try. I am quite partial to the smell of Jasmine so I thought this would be good for me.

The package is slightly unusual when compared to other shower gels. It doesn't have a hook to hang it up in the shower but the unusual thing is the shape of the container. It is kind of wiggly! It curves slightly first to the left and then to the right. It does make it into a shape that it easy to grip when my hands are wet whilst showering.

The Japanese Spa variety is in a creamy coloured plastic container with the name of the shower cream on the front together with a sketch of some flowers and a Japanese symbol. Of course, since the container is plastic, it should be recycled.

The information on the back of the container suggests that you can 'Transform your daily cleansing into an exquisite ritual using Japanese Spa shower cream'. Now, I don't know about you, but I think that's going a bit far! LOL! I don't have time for exquisite rituals in my shower - I need to get in, get clean and get out!

Having said that the individual components of the shower cream all have their own properties - green tea is a powerful anti oxidant, rice milk is caring and gentle and jasmine is relaxing and soothing. The shower cream itself is PH balanced, soap free, dermatologically tested and mild enough for the whole family to use.

To use the shower cream you start by flipping open the lid whereupon a wonderful fragrance will greet your nostrils! The smell of the jasmine is gorgeous! You then turn the container upside down and squeeze until the shower cream comes out into your hand in a nice creamy blob.

The shower cream is exactly that - creamy! It feels thick and soft on my skin and lathers up well in the shower surrounding me with bubbles and that lovely smell!

The thickness of the shower cream helps to make my skin feel soft and moisturised and the smell of the shower cream lingers in the air and on my skin well after I have finished my ablutions.

Considering the fact that I had only paid 84p for 250ml of shower cream I am very impressed with it and will certainly buy it again at that price. They also had quite a few other fragrances in the range at the same price so I think I may well return and buy some more!

As with anything of this type there is a cautionary note telling you to avoid getting it in your eyes and to wash them well with warm water if any does get there, but that's pretty much common sense isn't it?

Summary: A good budget shower cream

I think I must be losing my sense of smell - I've read a lot of positive articles about this product, but I didn't think it smelled of much at all. Glad you liked it anyway!
