Advantages: A soft white silky talcum powder
Disadvantages: none
Talcum powder is fast becoming a thing of the past, whereas a few years ago you could walk into any chemist and find a good selection of both ladies and gents talcum it is sometimes a struggle to find any!
Recently I spotted some Coty Talcum vastly reduced in Boots the Chemists, so I decided to stock up while the going was good. Avon often have some excellent offers on talcum too, if I am lucky enough to catch up with my Avon Lady at the right time.
Both of us like to use talcum after we bathe or shower, I suppose its a case of old habits die hard. A lot of people would flatly refuse to use talcum powder, it has had bad press in the past, it blocks skin pores, it could be a catalyst for certain types of cancer.
But my bath time wouldn't be the same without a liberal sprinkling of talcum, the main drawback for me is the mess it leaves on the bathroom carpet!
Cussons Imperial Leather talcum powder can only be described as a confident, classic yet unisex fragrance. The large red plastic container makes a bold statement, nothing shy about the contents here!
On the front of the container the red and white label holds the information about the product and on the background of the label you will notice a `water theme` going on.
The red plastic container has a twist top shaker with six holes, just a gentle shake will give you an ample covering of soft silky white talcum. If you make sure that the talcum is smoothed into the skin it helps to stop `white marks` appearing on your clothes.
Its very difficult to even start to describe the fragrance, no floral notes, no bass notes and no musk either, just an everyday talcum with a fresh smell.
A small amount of talcum makes a big difference to the way that your skin feels after a shower.
Cussons produce an enormous range of products, their famous Imperial Leather soap has been around for as long as I can remember. But they also manufacture many other soaps, body washes, hand-washes (including Anti-bacterial) and baby products.
A 150g container of Imperial Leather Talcum will cost in the region of £1.25, so it also represents good value for money. Some of the designer fragrances are extremely expensive.
For anyone who uses talcum powder on a regular basis Cussons has to be a good and safe bet, a classic fragrance, inexpensive, a fine silky white powder and above all it feels great on the skin.
Summary: A unisex talcum to suit most pockets
